It means I agree with the bolded part. And the bolded part means that the way the word 'repent' is used seems to indicate belief swap instead of dropping beliefs. Tracing back your steps means dropping beliefs, not turning around and fixing something that is broken (as the word you used seems to indicate). Well, good thing you used the word, 'seem'. I don't see how turning around and going the other way means fixing anything. Every attachment to "I am" that's dropped is what Reefs is referring to as retracing the steps.

Which is why I used the term, under the definition of turning around and going the other way (as in, detaching from instead of attaching to).

I'll skip the examples and incumbent minding. The last word is yours sir.

Greetings.. (From Chapter 94 of "I AM THAT", "You Are Beyond Space and Time") Niz: A man who says, 'Now I am happy' is between two sorrows -- past and future. This happiness is mere excitement caused by relief from pain. Real happiness is utterly un-self-conscious. It is best expresseed negatively as, 'there is nothing wrong with me. I have nothing to worry about.' After all, the ultimate purpose of all sadhana is to reach a point when this conviction, instead of being only verbal, is based on the actual and ever-present experience. Q: Which experience? Niz: The expereince of being empty, uncluttered by memories and expectations; it is like the happiness of open spaces, of being young, of having all the time and energy for doing things, for discovery, for adventure. Q: What remains to discover? Niz: The universe without and the immensity within as they are in reality, in the great mind and heart of God. The meaning and purpose of existence, the secret of suffering, life's redemption from ignorance. After cleaning-up a bit of the 'preference bias', that's a fair expression of clarity.. the edited quote lends itself to the realization that "truth" is the experience itself.. Be well..

Greetings.. (From Chapter 97 of "I AM THAT", "The Mind and the World are not Separate") Q: Without desire and fear, what motive is there for action? Niz: None, unless you consider love of life, of righteousness, of beauty, motive enough. Do not be afraid of freedom from desire and fear. It enables you to live a life so different from all you know, so much more intense and interesting that, truly, by losing all you gain all. Do not be afraid to let go of attachments to values like 'righteousness and beauty', as those judgments create the contrasting balance of 'unrighteous and ugly', those contrasts give the 'judge' labels to attach to those feared and found unrighteous.. Be well..
