The Pure Witness
It's so hard not to ask why You the interface of Energy and life Should face human drama ? You the executor of Numberless brilliant star lights Condensed into a teardrop of morning dew on a hanging leaf Are the inheritor of everything that was, is and ever will be to come A Prince indeed ! The jewel in the dung The Turtles neck finding The floating ring on the oceans waves The bubble on the stream I was born the pure witness and have never died again.

A toast to all appearances!
Welcome. Let the humming HVAC sing it’s continuous song,
Harmonizing with the chatter of colleagues
Feigning surprise and disappointment
Asking for sympathy in unarticulated tones.
Old Family pictures still and askew A halogen meekly mimics the sun
A wannabe. Surrounded by inventions and tools
Immersed . But not quite immersed.
Not at all.

These days, the way of thinking of death and 'making peace' with it, is more like viewing it as just another unknown in life. How many times have we got nervous and wrung our hands over the many firsts in our lives? Death's just another unknown. Just because we seem to have been conditioned to think of it as the final unknown, doesn't make it so.

How many times have we got nervous and wrung our hands over the many firsts in our lives? Death's just another unknown. Just because we seem to have been conditioned to think of it as the final unknown, doesn't make it so. It's 9 days until the 7th anniversary of my son's death. So many firsts -- first time a mom, first time a son (well - in this lifetime), first time to see the unexpected, like the morning I was driving Sean to school and over the rise, we saw a snow-capped mountain and when I looked over at him, I could see a tear coming out the side of his eye. Will never forget that. Well, I was listening to YT vids and happened upon Cat Stevens' songs, and when listening to the first lyrics about the blackbird has spoken, like the first bird, I burst into tears. I never thought about how each of us are all firsts or that's how I feel.

I found this poem yesterday - fresh off the presses from an SF member.
I think it's worth a share and is fitting:
The Fields of Life
I went diggin in a field And I came into contact With such a beautiful spirit It came out from the rocks The sky.... All green things and blue... They became so alive Deep inside me... It was such a great day As the years flew by The earth entered my heart My heart was on fire Together we danced It was mixed with sunlight And a very deep blue Eternity stopped by To take up the dance... Beyond the sky The earth knew why As I bid her goodbye She smiled As I cried....
