At one time sooner or later as you say we all were Oneness, we had no idea that we had a body but when Mama kept calling a name and pointing at you then at some moment the dots connected and we view ourselves as being separate. Everyone has a similar experience some remember some don't.

Zen, please tell me what you are pointing to? Tek: Go look at a tree without thinking anything. If you get lost in thought, and realize that you're lost in thought, shift your attention back to what you can see. Just look until you can see what the tree IS instead of what you think the tree is. Be patient and persistent. It may take several days, or even a week or two. Look at the tree without knowing what it is, but wanting to know what it is. Believe me; it is not a tree. No trees exist in "what is."

Good advice up to the point where you said it's not a tree. When you say something like this you create a false memory that will come up as not a tree cuz it was planted there.

Do the exact opposite of this. Look at the tree without thinking 'that's a tree.' Just see it; don't label it. The label is imaginary, the tree is not. If humans weren't here to come up with the word tree, what would a tree be?

Look at the tree without knowing what it is, but wanting to know what it is. Believe me; it is not a tree. No trees exist in "what is." Once again ZD, I don't get it. When I look at a tree I see a tree. How can I unlearn that? Do you mean ... look at the tree and think .. nah it aint a tree it is just wood or atoms or sub-atomic particles ... or energy? or just keep repeating that aint a tree, I am imagining it is. I am lost sorry, I am a bit thick lol. It's a tree because you think it is a tree... Kinda of gaze at it without a sharp focus of the eyes, look past the tree... Now that you can't really focus on it, your mind can't label it as a 'tree', your only option then since your really looking at a non conceptual tree, is to 'feel' the essence of it... You'll get it, when you don't know what your looking at, but are feeling it... Like Zen said, it's not a tree. It's non conceptual and you'll never 'know' what it is... Just like your true self... It's all about releasing your awareness from the conceptual boundaries of the mind.

If humans weren't here to come up with the word tree, what would a tree be? Autumn: Exactly as Mamza wrote. Simply look at what the tree IS without thinking thoughts about it or anything else. If thoughts arise, ignore them and return to looking until there is sufficient mental silence to see without knowing. Bear in mind the question, "What is that?" If it is neither a tree nor not-a-tree, what is it prior to the act of distinction/cognition? Look at the living truth like a little child--empty of concepts, images, or words. Look at the truth like the lens of a camera. What is seen with the eyes if the mind is not activated? Staying focused on the present moment simply means to concentrate on what's going on here and now rather than reflecting upon the past or fantasizing about the future. Tolle's book, "The Power of Now" is excellent if you haven't read it.
