I have always enjoyed sleeping and now with colder temperatures, I find myself going to bed very early and having to DRAG myself out of bed after more than 9 hours of sleep.
The thought has been coming that this (perhaps excessive sleeping ?) may not be a helpful thing ......
Does anyone have any thoughts about this? ?
Thank you.

If you love to sleep, enjoy it. Ive always found that if I get up as soon as I awake I feel much more with it. From a non duality perspective you're getting just the right amount of sleep!

I give myself as much sleep as my body wants. This has ranged from 8-11 hours, but it's probably been around 9 hours mostly the last few years. Now, I've been waking up earlier than normal, but I'm not motivated to do anything, so I just lay there.
In my book, don't worry about it.

When I had money and lived in CDM in OC I never needed more than 7 hrs sleep. We had a private beach in China Cove and could hear the small waves from my window.
Now living in the bitter cold upstate NY winter I find I need more like 9 hrs and still I drag a bit to get up. Something to be said for great climate and living area.

Speaking about sleep, are there any veteran lucid dreamers in this forum?

I dunno about veteran, but it used to be very common for me. Less so in recent years.

Have you ever had, what I can only describe as a solid black, sentient, entity, moving towards you, while in a lucid dream? It happened last night and the only other previous time, was over 7 years ago. I usually just forget about things like this, so I'm not really concerned about it, just curious. I was also practicing stillness and silence awareness, the day before I had the lucid dream. Is there any correlation, that you know of between the two? Thanks in advance...

Naw, never happened to me. I could write a story about what it means for you, but your story would prolly be better.

What if any, is the relationship between the waking concept/perception of the Divine and the dreamer’s experience/perception of the Divine, in the lucid dream state?

You might wanna look up the "dweller on the threshold". Did you get to interact with it? If you did, and there was not fear present, I doubt it would have been the dweller.

I'm not a lucid dreamer, but I wouldn't expect there to be much more of a difference in the relationship between the two than there would be any other concept. Dreams show you things that you go through in normal life in images and metaphors and such--what you see happening in the dream isn't always exactly what it means to normal life.

You might wanna look up the "dweller on the threshold". Did you get to interact with it? If you did, and there was not fear present, I doubt it would have been the dweller. I didn't interact with it at all, because I was too busy shi**ing my pants and I immediately scared myself awake... On the first occurrence many years ago, the shadowy shape seemed to be more aggressive and it charged at me. Which forced me awake screaming... The latest one, took a different shape and seemed to be moving towards me in a gentler fashion, kind of like a wandering puppy, making it's way towards me. I'd have to say, they seemed completely different in nature, but both still very frightening... Thanks for the lead, I'm going to check it out right now...
