okie i feel like posting a quick question here. just need some very quick advice. i have brought alot of books over the last 4 years. some of these books have just taken me out of reality and put me in a dream land of ideas. i dont mind it sometimes but i got hooked on these books and i was in my ideas all the time. i really am trying to get out that now, as explained in my last post. i am from england not america but in your currency money wise probably spent 2000$ on books. now some of these books i will keep forever becuase i do understand them to be books based on truth. i could be here all day listing which ones. but i do wish to get rid of some. anyway as mentioned in my last post. you can probably understand why i want to get rid of some of these books. please let me know what your opinions on this are. i do not know what to do

Books, nearly all the books that have passed bye me, I pay it forward, pass it along, either to another individual seeker, our here in SA we have a read drive, in every mall they collect books for libraries and also for informal settlements.
In all the reading I have done, one follows a thread, it is threaded through all books that which makes the most sense to you AND THAT WHICH IS PRACTICAL IN YOUR LIFE. It is much like food, take what you need, those things that are light bulb moments and which impact in a practical way into your walk with source.
For each of us, we are in the inner school of us, learning at a different velocity...... so for some of us the portals of understanding are quick and differing..... but in your quiet time pursue and view new understandings. The dis-quieting statements are there to make you debate with soul the meaning of it all. For me the movie The Matrix opened up understanding of why I leave all the time to adventure within......... the somewhat static physical world of twenty four seven presents us with physical and relationship challenge.
The inner worlds are so huge and interesting. My guides are so close to me in this NOW their input and sustaining so very precious to me.
Sleep seems to be required only for four to five hours NOW so much other stuff goes on.......... love this adventure ......... so many movies, books, chats, realisations, trips, adventures........ we really are very blessed in the NOW to witness one to another the simultaneous universes opening up, within..... lean in.
For me an author risks much when he publishes his adventures of the human condition.............. those that are at the cusp of the cliff.... jump off..... love love Louij

I think it'd be an amazingly powerful thing to give up all of the books you feel an attachment to. I travelled around India 5 years ago and I could only take so much with me as you can imagine. I came back to all these 'things' that were 'mine' and and I didn't need any of them. I was happier without them. Let go and there'll a lovely feeling of freedom.

when i am finished with books i donate them to the library. out of 50 or so books i kept the 5 or 6 that had a special place in my mind. the difficult part is being disciplined enough not to buy a bunch of junk all over again and merely repeating the process. aside from a couple of pointers the answers are already yours.

anyway as mentioned in my last post. you can probably understand why i want to get rid of some of these books. please let me know what your opinions on this are. i do not know what to do Do nothing. Keep them until/or if you no longer want them. Darryl, have you started any practice of late? I'd be interested in knowing what's going on with you.

If you think you'll read a book again, keep it. If not, give it away. If it would be very difficult to get a new copy, keep it if you want. Ask the universe to send people who want/need/would benefit from your library and it will. When we moved to TN we released hundreds of books and i don't regret any of them. (We also kept one bookshelf's worth and i do re-read many of those.) Don't buy any more, if you can avoid it. It's all just words.

So funny that you should bring this up as a funny little limerick came into my head yesterday:
There once was a girl who thought And books and books she bought. She read and faced fear Threw the books in the air; Still and Truth known, she no longer sought.
Cabin.....you answered your question in your question!
