We often get this urge to share and "teach" strangers but believe me this is not right. The occult Truth is - one has no right to interfere other's path to god, uninvited.
Evangelicals should prostelyze silently and by example
This is a supposedly true story about my teacher's Guru and one of his disciples.
So the story goes like this; there was this woman who for years had an acquaintance, a co-worker who for some reason showed up at the Guru's doorstep and asked to be allowed in the group.
When Ralph asked her who she was and why she was interested , she told the simple story; for years she worked, chatted and socialized with the woman disciple of Ralph. All the while she never hinted a word about her belief system or philosophy. Years later, the woman took her own initiative and detective work to "find out" what the woman did every Thursday. She told Ralph. "I do not know what you teach, but I want what that woman has and knows. I want to be like her, so teach me".
The best "teaching" and proselytizing is BY EXAMPLE(!) not words and pamphlets neither it is on TV ads to make money. Ralph used to say "it is never the quantity that matters but the quality." So true....
Jesus told his disciples to be fisher of men
What does this mean? Did he say throw the Holly Handgranade in to the lake to catch all the fish? No, he said be a fisher of men, if the fish is ready (big enough - a methaphor) take it - if not throw it back.....
This means that they were to passively seek out men who are ready, to receive the same wisdom he imparted his disciples with.
Men who fish will only get the fish that “is ready to be caught” on that day, not one fish more. Some fish need to remain in the ocean to grow and multiply.
Jesus knew that not all men are ready to receive his teaching and wisdom. Some people need a few more lifetimes to mature and reach that level.
