does the very center have a website? Guest: No. It's not large enough to justify one. That's a possible project for the future.

Hello Zendancer
I just wanted to add that I read your account of your Awakening Experience the other day on the "Spiritual Experiences" web site and I found it to be both moving and authentic
so hard to find someone who is humble and mature about this subject like that
anyway
just wanted to say that

What is left when personal selfhood totally disappears? Daniel: I'm sorry, but it can't be understood with the intellect. It can only be directly experienced, and it is what almost everyone on this website is interested in. Take care. ZD When Daniel correctly pointed out where you go wrong, you have been telling the same statement to him as well, whoever tells the truth, you are not going to listen to them and you are going to recite this mantra 'it can't be understood with the intellect', Daniel has correctly pointed out the truth that you may be correct, but what you are teaching is not the Bible, You are not going to listen anyone rather you are just going to recite your mantra, WOW what a beautiful words of Danial here to you! Dear Daniel, I don't know where are you now, but you gave the very good teaching to this zendancer! Thank you for that!

Hello Zendancer I just wanted to add that I read your account of your Awakening Experience the other day on the "Spiritual Experiences" web site and I found it to be both moving and authentic so hard to find someone who is humble and mature about this subject like that anyway just wanted to say that Jim I just saw the date on this thread and realized many years have passed since this comment was made. Now, I am wondering if this is like talking to myself, but I was fascinated with Zenlander's posts. Unfortunately, it became a Christian attack on him and a little bit of missionizing. ZD stated correctly, most people are not here to argue about the Bible. I was curious to see ZD mention the Tao, and I was going to ask him how he saw Taoism, which I see as actually the closest to Tolle, which is how I got here. And isn't the front page of this site about Tolle and how he has become a bit about the money. I've been distressed that Tolle has charged so much for access to his site, but it is what it is, and I do not pay. I'm also interested if ZD has anything to say about "Conversations With God" by I forget who right now but it will pop into my head pretty soon. Starts with a T I think. Anyway, Conver..With ..God (CWG) embodies my idea of Taoism. Really, the first 50 pages probably says it all, but there is good stuff all the way through. Is this thread alive?

Hi Soggy, Many years ago I wrote a book specifically for Christians (A Path to Christ-Consciousness, Non-Conceptual Awareness Practice as a Doorway to the Infinite), but, as you say, most people who come to this site are not interested in Christian mysticism or discussing biblical issues. There are other forums for that sort of thing. The primary interests of members who visit this forum are non-duality, discussions about spiritual traditions that focus on non-dual experiences and realizations, discussion about advice and pointers for how to attain direct experiences and insights into the non-dual nature of reality, and to argue about everything imaginable. LOL I think Tolle represents a shift in the West away from specific non-dual spiritual traditions (Zen, Taoism, Advaita, etc) to a more open and unstructured kind of investigation that leads to the same kind of ultimate understanding. His teaching incorporates everything from Christianity to Taoism, but he uses those teachings as a way of encouraging people to become still, become present, look within, etc. Tolle does not have a lineage because he woke up spontaneously, but he is familiar with all of the non-dual traditions and the teachings of various masters in every non-dual tradition. I'm in the same boat as Tolle. After I had an initial CC experience, I spent many months in university libraries searching for accounts of other people who had had the same sort of experience I had had. I wanted to understand what had happened to me, and how I could make it happen again--ha ha. Seven months later I found a Zen group and began attending silent retreats where more and more of my questions got resolved. Eventually I created an ecumenical church oriented around meditation and discussions of non-duality issues, and lost interest in the more rigid aspects of the Zen tradition. In America today there are numerous organizations, such as TAT or SIG, that essentially take the same approach as Tolle. Various people who have had realizations and insights into existential issues periodically speak in retreat settings where attendees meditate, walk in the woods, sit in silence, and discuss the path to enlightenment. ZD
