Hi, Iv just been going over some threads on this forum. My question is why are so many people on this forum against religion and philosophy?

Hi Snake: It may sound as if people are against religion or philosophy, but that isn't quite the case. It is a more a case of those things being inconsequential or, at best, peripheral. What most people on this forum are looking for lies beyond thought. Philosophy can never answer an existential question such as "Who am I?" or "Does God exist?" Religion, in general, requires faith. This forum points people toward direct experience rather than intellection.
Psalms 46:10 says, "Be still and know that I am God." It doesn't say, "THINK and know that I am God." It doesn't say, "REFLECT and know that I am God." It doesn't say, "IMAGINE and know that I am God." Stillness is pointing to something beyond the mind--something that is unimaginable. Cheers.
