Hi Lorenh, welcome. Seems like you have some specific goals in mind which is great.

We've discussed a few ways to heighten energy. It would help if you indicated if you were male or female as some discussion was more relevant to one sex or the other. For example celibacy seems to have more of an immediate effect on men (especially with regard to mental processes) and women can often find themselves in a "caring for others" role, which can be most draining. Of course this can apply to either gender.

Why do you want to heighten your energy? Because it feels good, or because you have something that you'd like to achieve? You may find that having a clear head is more useful than being full of beans - I've had some great insight on days when I've been feeling really flat. No point in bouncing off the walls if your head is full of fuzz. Diet and exercise can help a lot there.

Where are you energies being directed (or stolen) at present? Are you "working for the man", or does your life have some spaciousness to it?

By "expand" are you talking about your aura, or physical presence in a room?

Why do you want to lose your ego? What effect do you think that would have on your life?

PS Although many of the participants here favour a non-dual approach (or final outcome) to spritual development, I hope they'd agree it's not the only horse in (this) town. There's been a recent suggestion that we embrace Christian Science, and I'm certainly interested in hearing more about it.

I am looking to heighten and expand my energy level because I believe that is what the world (or the energy in it) is asking me to do. I have been reading a bunch as of late, Tolle and others, and after some trial and error of loosening the grip of the ego the process has left me with more questions, but this I like. It seems that after a short period of time, things are happening to me with a little more ease, more things going my way, if you will.

I am starting to realize that I am connected to a higher energy, one I did not know existed. I wonder how high of an energy level I can achieve?

As a complete novice, the journey I am on seems endless and instead of looking to accomplish things set out in the future I am learning that...this is my accomplishment...this moment right now. Something hard for me to grasp. But again, complete enjoyment.

I may be rambling here so I will look to take one step at a time.
