Yes I am a poet, you guessed it lol! Can someone smite me please. I'd prefer to be exaltless as my ego is hanging on to it for dear life. Thanks to whoever exalted me but I prefer to be a zero hero lol!

Hey Frank, Often, I find that what we consider to egotistical is often just fear of starting to be as big as we really are. And we might be surprised to find that our own unimaginable exaltedness doesn't negate our appreciation of the value of others. If anything, it usually enhances it. Most people, even when it's brought up, don't actually try the following experiment. It takes maybe 2-4 minutes max. If you try it, you might discover something about how exalted you really are....And that would be my guess.... REALLY take a moment to make yourself feel completely exalted. Let yourself be so exalted and cosmic that you would be normally embarrassed at how egotistical you are. Just take a moment and go there for that moment. Now, from that egotistical exalted place, check in: do you feel more connected to others or less? Do you feel more appreciation for others or less? If you feel more connected, and more appreciative then it's not ego. It's the opposite of ego. Yes I am a poet, you guessed it lol! Can someone smite me please. I'd prefer to be exaltless as my ego is hanging on to it for dear life. Thanks to whoever exalted me but I prefer to be a zero hero lol!

I know where you're coming from as when I had an awakening experience many years back I felt as if I was floating on clouds but I wasn't egotistical. I was able to give more to others as my needs seemed fully met. The only reason I'm shying away from being exalted is that I want to have freedom of expression and having only 1 karma seemed to be influencing how I approached my posts. There was a little voice saying things like 'you're not going to get another one with a post like that' and 'how long until you get the next one' etc..(I have a competitive streak I locked in a cupboard many years ago lol). I just want to have fun, improve my self awareness and take in others ideas. I tried the exercise and it didn't work but I'll try it again later. Thanks for the tip LM.

Hey Frank,
Yes, I agree that the karma system is a problem. I forget about it most of the time, but I think the system itself sends the wrong message. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if anything can be done about that.
When you said it didn't work, does that mean that you didn't feel more connected to people when you let yourself be exalted or that you were unable to let yourself go to that exalted place? If it was the latter, what do you think is preventing you from allowing that experience in? If it was the former, then that is your answer. If you felt more separate from everyone in some way, then it is, in fact egotistical, and so it's good that you are in the process of moving away from that.
