Public service announcement, QFT, 4:15, today

Physicist Sean Carroll is going to speak on quantum field theory on C-Span2 at 4:15 this afternoon, Sunday 8-25-24. He has a new book out on Fields and Quanta. I don't know if this is a repeat, if it is it's not too old. Can't wait. He's an engaging and clear speaker. He has one fault, actually 2, he 'believes in' the multiverse theory of reality (everything that can happen, will happen, in some world), but don't know if he will speak on that here-now. #2, he's a materialist, but he knows his stuff. IOW, he won't be as interesting as Federico F-a-gg-i-n.

It was most excellent. I was intimidated by the book, I don't do physics books with a lot of math. But now that he explains the why of the math (you're not expected to actually do the calculations), I'll probably read. There are only about two popular books on quantum field theory.
