The distinction between mind and matter is arbitrary, but we make distinctions between different aspects a unitary thing. The third distinction is 'awareness', or that which conscious of mind and matter.
Variability, appearance, disappearance and change implies chronology and there is sense of time in rhythm. Even complex meters rest on evenly timed spaces so that a listener can rock along. A clock measures beats and even atoms have regular oscillations. 'Everything in life is vibration', as famously said.
LOA and its minor minion, karma, pertain to matter and mind but we have to account for awareness which knows and pervades the substance. 'You become what you think', is the nature of this consciousness trinity, but treating it as a unitary substance, mind becomes matter as matter becomes mind.
The process is pretty simple: thought produces sensation (mind becomes matter), you react to that sensation (matter becomes mind). With that going on at sub-atomic timescales we perceive continuity whereinfact the manifest is formed and destroyed instantaneously. I rephrase 'everything in life is momentary'.
Rhythm doesn't really counts beats - beats are infinitesimal moments that equally proportion a continuous space.
