I've seen vids where people interpret (along the lines of, this is paraphrase from memory) the "Gnostics" as believing that the God of the bible wasn't the end-all-be-all God. As I recall that relate that to some other, less well-known religions as well. In forum-Advaita speak it would be the distinction between "Consciousness" and "Awareness". Niz used that a few times as well. Meister Eckhart is hinting at that, too. (edit a day later): what I meant by " this topic", specifically, is what he might have said about a "different God", whether he used that particular idea explicitly .. Meister's consciousness/awareness pointing seemed clear to me from what I already listened to. Perhaps you weren't referring to that "different God idea" (realized that later ...) Watched one vid that recited one of his works. I related directly to the pointing, and I interpreted his description as a sort of meditation (more on that in another thread) that's very similar to the recommendations of the various sources ("sages") that draw much attention here. Would you recommend a specific vid where he reaches this topic? The simplest way to point for Christians is with the Body of Christ. I don't recall from what I listened to if Meister did that. Some of the other ways to point might sound heretical to an average Christian. Any sensible Christian who thinks about God will eventually come to the question that sree asked, or something similar. The Christian practice of devotion and prayer is similar to Zen in that this sort of doubt about God is simply set aside, in what the Muslims call surrender (Islam).

It's been said that God is Love, or that the foundation of the universe is Love. Have you ever felt this directly, or awakened to such a reality? What did it feel like?
Looking at the world, and the way people are treated by powers that seem beyond their control, one could decide that God (or "Reality") is sadistic, or psychopathic.
I have felt that. It's blissful. If we call it God, it doesn't know what's happening, but from a person's perspective, everything is seen through the eyes of love.
