Boquila trifoliolata can mimic the leaves of many different host treesduckduckgo.com/?q=Boquila+trifoliolataIn 2014, a new species of the vine (Boquila trifoliolata) was discovered in Chile that can mimic the leaves of many different host trees. It can change the size, shape, color, orientation, and even the vein patterns of its leaves to match the surrounding foliage. It is the only known plant that can do this. - - - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34545774/Boquila trifoliolata mimics leaves of an artificial plastic host plant Abstract Upon discovery that the Boquila trifoliolata is capable of flexible leaf mimicry, the question of the mechanism behind this ability has been unanswered. Here, we demonstrate that plant vision possibly via plant-specific ocelli is a plausible hypothesis. A simple experiment by placing an artificial vine model above the living plants has shown that these will attempt to mimic the artificial leaves. The experiment has been carried out with multiple plants, and each plant has shown attempts at mimicry. It was observed that mimic leaves showed altered leaf areas, perimeters, lengths, and widths compared to non-mimic leaves. We have calculated four morphometrical features and observed that mimic leaves showed higher aspect ratio and lower rectangularity and form factor compared to non-mimic leaves. In addition, we have observed differences in the leaf venation patterns, with the mimic leaves having less dense vascular networks, thinner vascular strands, and lower numbers of free-ending veinlets. Yes, very most excellently interesting. I read this first thing this morning, and wanted to watch and reply. But, sometimes first things are first. Will be back to see the video. Sounds like an alien plant. Sounds like plants are nonlocal, too.

The commentaries I read about the Boquila trifoliolata's leaf mimicry focus only on the scientific impossibility of the plant's observing the leaf characteristics of the host plant situated in its proximity. I think that as surprising is the plant's ability to grow (at command) leaves with other characteristics than its innate genetic information about its shape. It is reported to have grown multiple shapes of leaves on the same plant when in the proximity of differently shaped hosts, including artificial hosts (studies published in science journals).
There are two distinct surprising phenomena here: one is the extra-sensorial perception (ESP), the other is the generation of different shapes according to that perception, with a purpose: its protection. Reality perception and reality creation.
I guess (interpret) that this may be the case with (many / all) other physical entities (from pebbles to humans). This may explain some common characteristics shared by identities found in the same proximity (space, time, ...).
It seems to go both ways: what resonates is attracted, but also what is in the same proximity begins to resonate. There are several examples that come to mind (racial, cultural, ...).

Very cool plant. Though there are a number of possible explanations, so it's by no means a proof of ESP. It will take some research and time before they figure out the mechanism. More time since botany probably doesn't have much money in it...

As a relative 'outsider', I'd be curious about why you think there is so much hatred exhibited between Americans these days, and is growing. It's an interesting phenomenon, as it has been there below the surface for a long long time. It is manifesting as a political pimple, of course, but there's more to it below it. You've seen a lot more of the States than most Americans, and could have an interesting perspective. TIA Thanks for asking, I thought about this for about half an hour before replying. Please bear in mind I have to generalize somewhat in a short reply, and I am conscious of my own biases. Also, the comments that others made about internet are valid. I think the battle here is similar to many other countries right now, just a bit more amplified here. In essence, it's a class struggle, but with the emphasis on culture, rather than economic. My experience of America as a whole is that the vast majority of the country (in terms of land mass) still values and wishes to preserve a fundamentally American way of life (conservative). But the smaller and densely packed areas want to 'update' America (progressive). I have sympathies in certain ways with both sides. In a sense, my mind lies with the progressives (e.g I believe capitalism is very flawed), but my heart with the conservatives....and my heart is stronger. As I'm sure you know, much of America is still working class. People physically work hard here, often 2 or 3 jobs just to pay rent and eat (which I find quite astonishing really....many in the UK struggle, but generally one job is sufficient for the absolute basics). They are Christian leaning, Christian values, believe in pulling oneself up by the bootstraps, believe in the constitution, believe in their truck lol. They don't believe in 'society', they believe in the power of the individual, and they cherish their family and community. In the media, a picture has been painted of the American working classes as 'ignorant, racist, homophobic, regressive' which contains elements of truth, but this is broadly misrepresentative of what these folks are about, and of course, they feel like they are being misrepresented. Whereas the wealthier middle class progressives believe in 'society'. They often correctly and nobly see 'social injustices', but they have an abstract intellectual filter of 'society', which means that for all their talk of diversity, they don't accept the true nature of diversity. They wish to change what they don't like, and create a kind of 'capitalist equality utopia'. And whenever I've stayed in strong progressive areas, I've had a sense that they have little understanding, respect and even care, for the subjective lived experience of the working classes across the bulk of America. From within their bubble, they believe they are rescuing the working classes from their plight and their ignorance. And the working classes are like....'Just LEAVE me and my family the hell alone. You don't understand me. My life is tough but I'm tough and I like it that way!' So I think what we are seeing is a very old dynamic. Those that find life relatively easy (materially speaking) are a bit bored, grandiosely believe in their own life success, they want a problem to solve and someone to rescue, and believe strongly in the over-arching nature of the 'greater good'. Ironically, it's not wholly dissimilar from 100-200 years ago when white people were trying to convert indigenous people to Christianity in various parts of the world....not exactly 'progressive'. They see the working class as problematic, and think the working class should want to be saved from their struggle and their ignorance. But they don't. Quite the opposite. They really just want to be left alone to live their traditional American life. Work hard, enjoy their family, eat good steak, go to church occasionally. Pushed too far, I imagine the working class cultures would seek succession from the progressive areas/states...as Laffy said is happening in Oregan. I'm more interested in the spiritual angle, so that's why I'm replying on this thread, as it seems off-topic on the other thread, and it might go the way of the pettifoggery thread. somenothing 's question is thought provoking and attracted my attention, then andrew 's reply was really well thought. At first, the question made me wonder if "there is so much hatred exhibited between Americans these days, and is growing" is true. Is there so much hate between Americans? Is there more hatred these days than there was in the past? The recent past? Over the human history? Then: am I feeling such hatred too, or is it just observable in others? Andrew 's reply is mostly intellectual, with some intuitive and emotional contributions, but with no spiritual angle. How deep can the object of this question be interpreted? What would be the lesson and the guidance for me?

- (mercola) There are about 10,000 publications showing that prolonged sitting is harmful to your health and promotes chronic diseases, including obesity and Type 2 diabetes. Within 90 seconds of rising from sitting to standing, the muscular and cellular systems that process blood sugar, triglycerides and cholesterol — which are mediated by insulin — are activated. All of these molecular effects are activated simply by carrying your bodyweight upon your legs
Even if you get 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise each week, there’s still a dose-response association of sitting with waist circumference, systolic blood pressure and glucose levels — a phenomenon referred to as “active couch potato syndrome”
At bare minimum, avoid sitting for more than 50 minutes out of every hour. Ideally, limit sitting to three hours or less
According to biological anthropologists, the fossil record suggests that when early man traded their nomadic hunter-gatherer lifestyles for a more settled one, it resulted in a less dense bone structure
Recent research shows moderate exercise — loosely defined as exerting yourself to the point where you're slightly winded but can carry on a conversation — improves all-cause survival two times better than vigorous exercise, and that more is better. It cannot be overdone
I think that the author got carried away there ... like Frasier. Looking for spiritual angles ... As discussed on this forum too, anecdotal data shows that a greater than expected number of gurus, recognized for their spiritual advancement, and for ascetic lives, were surprisingly afflicted by degenerative diseases that caused great suffering. I guess, even what they call illusory body, fake self and such, when neglected (lack a minimum of attention) even for relatively short periods of time, like more than one hour, get "degraded" somewhat, they aren't re-created well. So, longer periods of continuous meditation seem to be detrimental to the physical body; probably to the mind too (they really destroy the mind). Some religious lifestyle recommendations seem to have been misinterpreted over the ages, and became detrimental to their followers' well-being. Others may have been misinterpreted from the get going. Another example that comes to mind is begging for food instead of working for it.

It seems to go both ways: what resonates is attracted, but also what is in the same proximity begins to resonate. There are several examples that come to mind (racial, cultural, ...). - EPIGENETICS
Since the appearance of Darwinism until relatively recently, a scientific trend was created in which genetic determinism predominated, which, in short, was based on the fact that “we are what our genes reflect.” Since the end of the 19th century, when the theory of evolution began to be accepted, scientists believed that humans, as well as all living beings, were limited and determined by the information contained in our genes and, therefore, by heredity. of our parents.
But with the arrival of epigenetics, all that determinism and biological limitation was blown up. Epigenetics is the study of the mechanisms that regulate the expression of genes without a modification in the DNA sequence. It establishes the relationship between genetic and environmental influences and the characteristics that determine a phenotype [10]
According to epigenetics, it is the environment that determines what reading we do of our DNA; how we interpret it and through it, how we respond to our environment. It has been seen that for each phenotype we can develop more than two thousand different proteins that respond to an external stimulus. This means that the cell adapts to external experiences and that the reading it makes of our DNA, as well as the response it gets from it, is what the cell interprets to be the best response to the external stimulus.
Therefore, in genes we only find our potential, our resource manual to provide answers, but it is the environment that will give us the possibility of getting more or less performance from our manual.
EDIT: Matter is secondary (as even the Buddha allegedly said). Matter is a manifestation of the non-physical

In 71 % of the cases, the robot spent excessive time in the vicinity of the chicks. In the absence of the chicks, the robot followed random trajectories. The overall results were statistically significant at p < 0.01. www.scientificexploration.org/docs/9/jse_09_2_peoch.pdf***** www.supporthealth.com.au/rene-peoch-chickens-telekinesis/ (click link for text with pictures) Rene Peoc’h, Chickens, TelekinesisOctober 20, 2020/in Philosophy In 1986 Rene Peoc’h conducted a most astonishing experiment to show telekinesis – influencing objects at a distance by power of the mind. He used newly hatched chicks and a specially made robot. Chickens and all birds believe the first animate creature or thing they see after hatching is their parent and become closely bonded. Peoc’h introduced the newly hatched chicks to his special robot. They loved it and yearned to be close to it. The robot could drive itself around on wheels and had a pen underneath to trace its path on paper as it moved. It had a random number generator on the steering – every every few seconds it changed direction. A large table with a low sidewall to prevent the robot falling off was covered by a sheet of white paper. The robot was placed in the centre of the table and set moving, it traced a random pattern across the table. The Experiment Peoc’h put the robot in the centre of the table and switched it on- it traced a random pattern. Peoc’h put 15 chickens which were bonded to the robot in a small cage at one end of the table, put the robot in the centre of the table and switched it on. The chicks felt anxiety when it moved away from them, yearning for it to be close. These chicks had a profound effect on the robot’s movement. It moved toward the chickens and stayed at the end of the table closest to them. He put non-bonded chickens into the cage, the robot traced a random pattern again. Peoc’h made the room dark and put a small candle on the robot. Even non-attached chickens would bring it closer for the comfort of the light. When Peoc’h put rabbits in the cage they were scared of it and made it stay at the far end of the table. But when they got used to it they began to draw it near. Peoch repeated the experiment many times, always with the same results.

My wife is a "Doctor Who" fan, and she's binge re-watching beginning with the 2005 season. I don't care for this series, but yesterday it happened that we watched together the "Christmas Invasion" episode. plotIn a few words, the British send a space probe that is intercepted by an alien race, that so finds out about the Earth's being livable. The aliens use a human blood sample ('brainlessly' placed there by scientists as proof of life on Earth) to take hypnotic control over one third of the human population, and use that to blackmail the Earth into surrendering into slavery. The Doctor intervenes, challenges the alien commander to a sward fight, wins, and orders the aliens to leave and never return, which the aliens do. This is the point where the video-clip starts. Although the aliens left, the British prime-minister orders the army to shoot and destroy the leaving alien ship (it seems that they could do that by using some reverse-engineered alien technology, which they can do now because the alien mind control had been removed by the Doctor ...). The Doctor gets upset, accuses the prime-minister of murder, and disgusted, vows to bring down the government (which apparently he succeeds by starting a rumor just by asking "Don't you think she looks tired?"). - - - My wife asked what I would have done; she would've done as the prime-minister did. I wouldn't have. Spiritual interpretation? Defend yourself, but acting from anger and / or fear, will materialize in situations that will hurt you. What do you mean by my views in this context? Whatever your intention, you directed my attention on children missing around the world, in various percentages, unexpectedly high in the Western world. I feel a reluctance to focus longer and think deeper about this. Maybe if you clarified why you've asked, I could focus on responding to that.

I used them because you had used quotes about the abused, so I was curious if all you said about the abused applies to little children as well, in your view. In my understanding ... Whatever we are aware of is a materialization of an inner framework, and your question should be addressed from two perspectives: as a lesson, and as test. As a lesson is when your attention is attracted by something that happens to others (you aren't directly involved in it), like in this case of missing children in the world. An interpretation should peel off levels of symbolism, as deeply as possible for the one who interprets. In the case of dramas and tragedies, like this one, there will be found beliefs and emotions that brought such situations, although most likely they aren't directly related. If you discuss statistics at country level, as much as those statistics are accurate, they should reflect some psychological realities specific to those countries. If you don't believe those statistics, you could find interpretations that reflect why those statistics aren't accurate. You're probably interested more in my reply about innocent children having tragic experiences. My understanding is that nobody experiences something that wasn't foreseen, and that was for whatever reason accepted, at his own inner level. When we choose a life / role to incarnate into, that is laid out in front of us with its probabilities and challenges, and we believe that we'll be able to handle those. It is possible, for some reasons, to choose short lives, to experience only the getting into the physical, or only some kind of circumstances. It is also possible to fail in the choices we make, and to need to rework them, but that's not because somebody did something to us, but because we erred. In such cases, a new fragment of personality may be created and given a second chance. As a test, when we are directly involved, even remotely, like hearing about a tragedy in the news, or from an acquaintance, our response will reflect our understanding of reality, our beliefs, our level of evolvement. There's no way to hide from it, because conscious denial, even when pushed to the delusional level, doesn't affect the inner reality. Understanding that one's emotions will bring in his reality situations that will generate similar emotions, will eventually push him to find out the beliefs that initiated that process, and once found they can be removed or replaced, one by one. You can't solve tragedies in the world by trying to prevent them from fear, or punishing those responsible from anger, or getting revenge from hate. You can address them only by changing your, and only your inner reality, your emotions, your beliefs. If you believe that others can affect your (or others') reality, that's what it will seem to you to happen. If you understand that all your experience reflects only your inner attitude toward the external, then the reality will seem to serendipitously turn for better. It isn't like magic that breaks the laws of the physical reality, but situations arrange themselves in a favorable way. So, it isn't that you should ignore what's happening, or be aloof, or heartless, but you need to focus in the way in which you can affect change: on whatever is reflected in the mirror, not by trying to directly change whatever is in the mirror. You need to focus on what you want, not on what you don't. You can help those "unfortunate" children by your creating / experiencing a better probable world. But it matters what you really think more than what you do, again not delusionally, but by really evolving, and removing limiting beliefs layer by layer. You, here are a state of consciousness of a gestalt you might not be aware of, like a student who got carried away and forgot he's a kid that attends a school. Both lessons and tests apply at all gestalt levels, not only individuals, but all groups of people too: families, affiliations, nations, humanity. There can't be ideal realities because nobody would grow, because those that incarnate are at different levels of evolvement (like grades in school). We chose, this reality because we thought we'll handle it well. Some of us will end up learning a lesson in humility too.

This sounds a great deal like Abraham-Hicks. I disagree with this. The only point of leverage is the present moment. Thinking always necessarily indicates the past, through memory, or the future through imagination. In thinking there is always a time differential. Thinking is like the wake of a boat. Now, yes, you can consider and think and plan, but you can only implement the plan moment by moment, in the present moment. And the doing is all that matters, not the thinking part.

Sorry. :-( I was asking about the bolder part of your post. The bringing it upon themselves bit. I asking how you see that applying to the missing children. If you don't know them, Esther in like Jane Roberts and Abraham is like Seth. IOW, Abraham is using the body of Esther to talk. (If you don't know this, it sounds like Esther is talking about herself, "at her own expense"). As far as I know Esther is still in-the-flesh.

I agreein part i.e. life brings us the experiences we require to get us beyond limitations. But also, I wonder, how are you certain that we choose life lessons before we get here? Is this your belief/faith or did you have some kind of direct experience or revelation about it?
