Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum. I'm trying to make sense of my call to explore the so-called spiritual path. The call is very strong and I sense I have no option here. I'm currently interested in the TAT foundation, given its apparently high rate of success in terms of effective "transmission", but I'm open to whatever works. I just want the truth.
Peace.

Hi, How are you currently exploring? Many here have shared their experiences over the years with various forms of meditation. Their experiences of questioning reality and their own nature. Their realizations along the way. You'll likely find some interest in those topics if you start sharing. But such engagement is never without "risk". .. and no need to get personal unless you want to. Abstraction can be useful sometimes.

Thank for your message. I'm currently exploring the Headless Way, again. I came across the work of Douglas Harding in early 2020, but then the pandemic hit and my interests moved in a different direction for a while. Then I found Howdie Mickoski and heard about TAT for the first time. But I was already into nonduality before that, after being blown away by Nisargadatta's "I Am That". I was interested in spiritual exploration since I was a kid, but I got sidetracked (again) by university (got a so-called terminal degree in the social sciences) and an emphasis on the material world for a relatively long while (i.e., trying to fix "the world"). Then a spontaneous OBE in late 2017 brought me back with the search, this time driven by a very intense desire to find the truth about who we really are.
I was interested in Gurdjieff since my early twenties. I joined a Gurdjieff group in the mid-2000s, but it didn't work. I also explored the work of Steiner in the last couple of years, but dogma is not my thing. I also tried Bufo Alvarius and Ayahuasca with a spiritual intention and had very gentle and loving glimpses of our true nature (I'd define it as "pure love").
I'm now focusing on becoming my own authority, but I'm always open to fruitful confrontation and guidance.

I'm now focusing on becoming my own authority, but I'm always open to fruitful confrontation and guidance. Wow! Thanks for sharing all of that. There are at least two members here who have an interest in Gurdjieff, several others who are interested in Harding, most have an interest in Niz, and several have experimented with psychedelics. Zendancer and a few others have mentioned OBE's. I'm sure there would be interest if you wanted to share details -- although there is also a major interest among several past and present members on the topic of the distinction between realization and experience. As you might be aware the owner of this forum, Shawn Nevins, was involved with TAT for a long time and even met Rose on his farm. The rules here have plenty of room for confrontation, and there has been an off-and on interest in exploring the distortions of perception that can happen even on a media as limited as this one .. but of course, those limitations have some advantages to such an exploration. At times.

Thank you, laughter!
I found this forum through the Spiritual Teachers website. I've been exploring the work of different TAT members intensively for a month or so now. I'm impressed by Bob Fergeson and Art Ticknor and am intrigued by Bart Marshall and his recent change of heart on the relative world.
Looking forward to learn from members here to and contribute to this forum.
Cheers!

How to deal with the relative world is always an interesting and controversial topic.
