Cosmic Consciousness a book written by Richard Maurice Bucke in 1901 i know it's going to be a very good book i am going to buy and read it soon. Anyone else here like the book?

I haven't read it, but I've heard good things about it from several different people. It's one of the earliest post industrial western accounts that we know of, so there's a lot of appreciation and respect for it from what I've heard.

Cabin: The book is interesting, but Bucke's main conclusion was incorrect. He had a big mystical experience in London in 1899 after reading some Walt Whitman poetry. Afterwards he surveyed world religious literature and concluded that cosmic consciousness was a new evolutionary development. This was not true. He therefore never understood his experience in context nor realized what the path of non-duality is all about. Nevertheless, his book is worth reading if for no other reason than it included some interesting accounts of mystical experiences.
