I was thinking about the Wizard of Oz movie the other day. It's got it All there. Dorothy tries to find it away from home- yet in the end realizes it was always right here. There's no place like Home. You have the scarecrow-- intellect, the tin man- physicality and the lion= heart. Then you have yin and yang (good and evil) the witches and a myriad of circumstances like the field scene when they fell asleep-non persevering laziness, etc. Also the great Oz, who it turns out couldn't do anything for Dorothy and was just an imagination of hers. Just thought Frank Capri. who I believe wrote it, got IT, and wrote a masterpiece. I'd appreciate any and all insights into this beautiful movie!

Yes, it is interesting to look for the spiritual insights in the movie. I see the yellow brick road representing the spiritual path to enlightenment. Dorothy clicking her ruby slippers is one's ability to find the answers within themselves. The elves singing "follow the yellow brick road" is like an affirmation. I'm sure there are many more metaphors in the movie.

I thought of another one-the Wizard! The Wizard represents the big bad God in organized religion.
