dwaddler! Nice bottom lines, no doubt. I wonder if there will eventually be some figure like Einstein or a group like Bohr et al who move this ball forward or if (perhaps more fittingly) it will just eventually be some sort of collective dawning. If you read Seth with QM in mind, it shouldn't be that difficult. In Seth's ontology, the most basic 'building blocks' are CU's (units of consciousness). This isn't a TED Talk. I've been video hopping today. Chanced on this. I read Stalking the Wild Pendulum by Itzhak Bentov many years ago. It's the best scientific-language explanation of the structure of man and the universe I've encountered. There are also some Itzhak Bentov videos out there, very good. In them he explains that none of this is theoretical for him, he experienced everything he wrote about. Now, this guy has a little weird presentation, I presume for entertainment and attention-grabbing purposes, but he gives a good brief overview, I haven't seen it previous to about 25 minutes ago. He gets serious at the end, I'll probably look at his Joe Dispensa video next. The illustrations are from Bentov's book, which I can highly recommend, I think I have it on my best books (or teachers) list here, five, twice.
Why do I post this? At least a few people here have described, and some even gone through here IRT, enormous-energy-events. I'd say these result from a sudden activation of Kundalini. So, just a warning, if you do a lot of meditation, it's possible to accumulate this sensitive energy. In the past I've been on a number of service calls from lightning strikes. I've seen the results of lightning hitting a circuit, following it, and blowing out a brick in an outside wall. Kundalini can be like that, going wherever. I could as well put this on the purification thread. Nick explains somewhat the necessity for purification. I've also mentioned from time to time spiritual emergency, written about by Stanislav Grof and Mariana Caplan. He also gives a warning, don't try this at home (he probably has to do this for legal-responsibility-purposes).
I probably should post an actual Bentov video, I'll do that shortly.

Itzhak Bentov died in a plane crash in 1979. His wife continued his work, and published a second book he had been working on (the second book is published under two different names, A Brief Tour of Higher Consciousness and the original title, A Co{s}mic Book. The beginning of the video is her explaining some of his views. The second half of the video Itzhak Bentov explains why there is no separation.

Good old Tom Campbell. This is the most accurate description of the whole process of incarnations I've seen, in eleven minutes. When you can tell me you have awareness of the Whole Individuated Unit of Consciousness, then I'll say you have something significant. Enjoy.

OK, this was fascinating. My Big Toe, the book by Tom Campbell, is a thick sprawling narrative of stuff, it's like gem mining. In the NC mountains you can go gem mining. They set you before a screen sift, and give you a bucket of mud, well, you pay $5.00 or $10.00 for the mud, probably more today. It's basically a form of gambling, you do it for fun. You sift through the mud and usually find a rock-gem, or several, rough, uncut, but it's mostly mud. So I haven't kept up with Campbell. But in the video he says after writing the book (it's at least 2 & 1/2 inches thick) he saw a way to expand his model to explain quantum physics, and every paradox he could think of, in any field, by his Consciousness model. So, I haven't looked yet, but hopefully there is a My Big Toe 2. According to the video he has basically found the Holy Grail, the Philosopher's Stone (my words).
It's long, 38 minutes. I don't usually pick long videos to post. But it's worth it. About minute 20 he gets into where he discovered he can explain quantum physics in his Consciousness model. (Basically it sounds like how you can get randomness out of Intelligent Consciousness, and then explain the randomness via his Consciousness model, but he doesn't say that specifically). He doesn't get to the explaining, I'm going to go searching for that next. I don't doubt that he thinks he's got it.

This interview is exceptionally interesting. About minute 34 McGilchrist gets to many topics we discuss here. He's the best person I've encountered on the different influences of the right and left hemispheres of the brain. He goes into why the left brain likes models, and therefore greatly limits itself. He in fact says most of our delusions come from the left hemisphere. The right brain sees the whole, and so is less subject to delusion. If you have 20 minutes, I highly recommend. To slightly head off a critique of myself, we need models to communicate with others, but they are not the way to squeeze the world into a certain mold. Basically, he says most people experience the world through the left hemisphere, and so vastly limit possibilities. The world enters through the right brain, but the left brain chops it up so as to look through a keyhole, instead of opening the door (my analogy). The questioner mentions Jill Bolte-Taylor shortly after the 34 minute point. McGilchrist says, yes, most definitely, better to have a stroke in the left hemisphere rather than the right, a stroke in the right hemisphere is much more debilitating and harder to recover from. McGilchrist is a very smart guy.

This is a TED Talk by Iain McGilchrist, eleven years old. McGilchrist studied literature and philosophy in University, and wrote a pretty good book. But he read the book Awakenings by Oliver Sacks (which was made into a film with Robin Williams playing Sacks and Robert Deniro playing a patient, very moving film). So at 28 he started medical school, and studied the brain hemispheres for 30 years, wrote a most excellent book, The Master (the right hemisphere) and his Emissary (the left hemisphere). For about nine minutes I wanted to give up on the video, 'just shoot me', but hung in there, knowing he's brilliant. So at minute nine until the end, he explodes, it just pours out.

I thought I was done for the night, but this is a very brief intro to The Master and His Emissary, about the two hemispheres of the brain, by Iain McGilchrist, 4 minutes.

I've been exploring videos today. This one is pretty cool, eight minutes. Starting college I was anxious to study philosophy. So at age 18 with Philosophy 101 under my belt, I arrived at the following view of how our experience of life works, derived from several philosophers, I followed the process of how perception works, in myself. So I've had this view for 53 years, I've never found any exceptions. This is from the website Kabbalah Explained, I haven't viewed any of their videos previously. For years I tried to dip into Kabbalah, but it always just seemed like goobledygook, and I couldn't enter. Then probably about 25 years ago I found this book God Is A Verb by Rabbi Cooper, that was my entry, it all began to make sense. I thereafter read many books on Kabbalah, I'd probably place it #2 under the Gurdjieff teaching. The film The Matrix is based on this view, picture Neo still inside the Matrix-battery-factory before he was removed. Will make this a thread, We can only experience what we are, what we are is a limiting filter, a window, and a mirror.

I didn't know who Alan Kay was, mentioned in quotes, just now. I searched, found this. I listened to the first 3 minutes, so far. I consider it a synchronicity, as I appropriately linked it elsewhere. ( ). He quotes The Talmud, a quote I know well.

This is an exceptionally interesting video, only just seen now for the first time (once so far). It's purely scientifically based. The video shows consciousness is a necessary aspect of the universe, but the narrator says we don't want to be associated with "New Agey" Consciousness. It's from an actual physics based research group in California. I don't normally post longer videos, this one is half an hour. It's very entertaining, so 1/2 hour goes quickly. One interesting aspect, part of their theory is that the future can cause the present (and the past the future and the future the past, in a kind of feedback loop), the video spends some minutes on this. This is not new to me as it is also incorporated into Gurdjieff's teaching (basically, the numbers 142857 represent, among other things, the movement of causality back and forth in time, IOW, linear time would be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7). So, aside, I recently put the enneagram as my avatar. It's an ancient symbol according to Gurdjieff, but it was not publicly known until Gurdjieff introduced it in 1912. People have researched, but it is not found previous to Gurdjieff, in the form he gives, despite it mathematical nature). It shows the relationship of the two fundamental laws of the universe, the law of 3 and the law of 7 (AKA the law of octaves). Divide a circle into nine equal parts (ennea = nine in Greek). Number the dots of spacing 1-9 with 1 in the approximate One o'clock position, 9 at 12:00. Divide 1 by 7. You come up with the repeating number 142857. Draw a line from numbered dot to numbered dot, start the repeat of the pattern. Then draw a line connecting the remaining numbers, 3, 6, 9. That's your enneagram. Gurdjieff said all existing objective knowledge can be placed into the enneagram. [Added note, the nine personality types did not come from Gurdjieff. They originated with Oscar Ichazo]. But it is interesting that the 8-dimension universe described in the video, would correspond to Gurdjieff's 8-dimension All That Is (The seven notes of the ray of creation, connecting back to the Do of the Absolute, encompassing Everything. Described a little more in the Triads, Octaves and 5% Universe thread). The video is interesting enough that I will investigate to see if this research group has other available information. It makes me wish I had been a scientist (of course not the first time). It may be the most likeable purely scientific theory I've encountered.

Why make things complicated? Is there hearing? What we are is the effortless awareness of what is heard. No thinking required. No concepts required. No science is required. No effort or work is required. Is there seeing? What we are is the effortless awareness of what is seen. No levels. No idea of control. No teachings. No practice. No effort. No "me" seeing anything. Just effortless seeing and effortless being. What we are is THIS. That which sees and that which is seen is one unified field of effortless being. Thoughts come and go. What we are is what effortlessly sees thoughts come and go. What we are is the beingness of THIS.
