Porto,
You said:
"It seems that the essence of spirituality, of who we are, cannot be stored in memory. You can only live it now, but not remember it."
Ah! Very nice....

I can look back and see that the beginning of my spiritual search began with yoga. I had no idea why I became interested in it but it felt so good physically that it was a part of my life for 3 years. Then I read an article in the newspaper about a doctor who had a near death experience(Dr. George Ritchie, A Return from Tomorrow). It rocked my world. I knew his after life experiences were true-no doubt in my mind.) Next thing I knew I was in the public library looking for books on Edgar Cayce and the fun began. I read every book I could possibly afford. I read White Eagle, Yogananda, Ruth Montgomery and on and on.
Although I had an interest in the psychic, my thirst for spiritual growth was even stronger. It was about 2 years ago that I visited a Ramana Maharshi site on the net. I tried reading a little bit about nondual teachings but didn't understand it. In the meantime I had gotten back into A Course in Miracles and my understanding opened up a bit more. For some reason I kept going back to the Ramana site and it was as if something opened for me and the teachings began to click.
This is an exciting time for me. I'm glad to have found this board!

How do we, not know, that we All might just be Crazy?

You mean seeking, and finding? Crazy as apposed to what? But yeah - that dawns on me too. But you know, whenever I've questioned anyone (common folk) with my legitimate concerns over what the hell this existence is, without question everyone already knows what I was referring too, but they always dismiss it impatiently with: "Don't get philosophical!", or "Yeah but you gotta live in this world!", or the most common response: "Aww! com'on!" appealing to common assumption. That doesn't seem too sane to me.

jimmy,
Of course we're all crazy. IT is the madness of the Universe.

Jimmy, As Karen said, it depends on how you define crazy. What is "normal," anyway?
Karen, Nice post. I observed that too. Basically, all people are already aware that they exist, but they don't search for a deeper understanding about existence because: 1) it seems very normal, and there's nothing to search for or 2) they tried briefly and concluded that it's impossible to find it
This is why I'm saying that those who don't search seem to be more at peace with life/oneness. But they seem to be hypnotized by ego and the illusion of separateness.

Hey Jimmy, Firstly, we ARE all crazy. That aside, it's because it's not something additional, but something out of the way that was thought to be real. It's what is left, and is seen to have always been there, when craziness leaves.... That said, there's no definitive way to "know" anything specific. Not that it matters.... How do we, not know, that we All might just be Crazy?
