There seems to be a theme going on today. Art Ticknor in Tess Hughes website pointing at the importance of fasting from media and internet stuff.
At work they are talking of 5G downloads how quick it will be to download a movie. Asking me why I haven't watched a movie from the Netflix account they've given me. I did reply the last movies I watched were The Great Debaters with Denzel Washington, The Game with Michael Douglas, and Gone Girl with Ben Affleck. But it took me weeks to finish watching them which didn't sit down to well with my partner in bed. Especially Gone Girl, I'm sure she was hinting at something lol.
I used the words Digital Age in another post but searched it on YouTube and Eckhart Tolle came up. Awakening in the digital age
Awakening and the digital age. How do you see it?

Sorry I was meant to post a snippet from Art Ticknors post on Tess Hughes site.
I didn't download it all lol. A silent mind really is useless in the digital age. If I was working for you, you would sack me š
Here it is and do watch the Eckhart video too and post at your own pleasure
One of the strongest habits many of us have is using media to fill hours of our waking experience. For a real challenge, try a media fast for a period before the retreat ā¦ no books, newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, movies, Internet(!), Facebook(!), etc., that arenāt necessary for school or work. If that seems too heroic, pick one or two of your highest time-wasters to take a rest from. Phone calls? How much time do you spend in needless conversations? Texting? Ditto. If you put your mind to it, Iām sure you can zero in on habits the use your lifeās time and energy, which you could experiment with taking a pause from.
Other than addictive habits, there may be indulgences (āgiving free rein toā; āfreeing from temporal punishment for sinā š that would be interesting to abstain from. Retail therapy? Starbucks mochas, lattes and frappes? Fast food treats?
The idea isnāt to remove all pleasures from your life ā¦ but to encourage you to find opportunities to shake things up a bit. If you get any later inspirations youād like to pursue, please feel free to send updates to your preparation plans

I was sent this video on WhatsApp very interesting I don't have children so can't relate to some of the video and I don't know how true the information is presented in this video that parents who are very close to tech in Silicon Valley prohibit their children from screens of any kind.
I remember reading once on book stores may close against Ebooks but something within me felt their would be a shift back to printed books.
The smell of a book you can't match it. Turning a page

Awakening in todays time is definitely a possibility - but I think the same age old truths still apply. Anybody who cant be dedicated to spiritual practice will probably progress very slowly, even in todays information age with libraries of info
