Hi everybody, I just wanted to let you know that I am running a free book promotion in the kindle store on my book, for the next 5 days, so everybody can download it to their kindle for free! Here's the link: www.amazon.com/Refuting-External-World-Goran-Backlund-ebook/dp/B00NOXW8QEHere's from the description: Refuting The External World
"This piece of philosophy will guide you through every step of the way in dismantling the notion of the external world. It will effectively reveal and dispel any wrong-thinking surrounding this idea upon which all else stands. The purpose? To unburden you from all notions of ‘self’, allowing you to directly discover the raw, non-dual truth of Being."

I read the book. Afraid this retread of skepticism doesn't hold up. Lots of sleight of hand in the logic.
To take one simple example, the final conclusion in the book depends upon the idea that to conceive something requires that one be able to imagine it -- to picture it ("If we can't even picture them, what is it we believe is or isn't out there?"). And since an "objective" world, one outside our experience, would apparently have to be pictured, and picturing requires the notion of space, and space is inherently something we experience, so the argument goes, therefore there can't be an objective world. It is inconceivable.
Yet this very logic cannot be pictured. It exists in words alone. Therefore, by its own argument, it is inconceivable and therefore meaningless.
Logic itself -- the logical operators of "is" and "and" and "or" and "true" and "false" -- not one of these things can be pictured.
Therefore if this idea is taken seriously, the entire book is meaningless.
