Well, I hung up my gun for a pair of binoculars many months ago now.  But if you're going to be even-handed about this you'd at least give E' the respect of a peeps court. And I'd be the first to volunteer as his lawyer.  In my opinion, his past contributions here should earn him some deference along these lines, and if I were to pick up the gun again he wouldn't be the only peep here bleeding.  It's true that these are foreign giraffes that broke their pens and crossed a border, but I think that could be sorted out peacefully, if not amicably, and I'd urge you to take a step back into objectivity, as they involve you directly. As far as maintaining order is concerned, you have to do what you have to do, but the quarantine idea would be the disaster of the Unmoderated section in miniature.  What I think might work better is an externally enforced GA between E' and andy. Let them take it back to the gab and sort it out there. Granted, that would be unfair to andy given the abusive atmosphere of the gab, but your job is the atmosphere of this forum, and I think that banning E' would ultimately be a net negative for that no matter how you slice it. A GA is when two people don't talk or reference each other right? Yeah that would be okay with me. I won't be sorting this out on gab, I came here to talk about something other than solipsism lol. |

Negotiations already under way. We'll see. The one guy I ever jammed with on guitar wanted to write a reggae song one day but was at a loss for words. So I helped him. (infer the hair on the snare with the "...'s"): ".. ♪ bullets ... ♫ bullets ♫ .. ♪ bullets don't negotiate ♪ ... " I think you should calm down. A giraffe is a giraffe. Everyone still posting here is familiar with that rule. And the archive doesn't lie. So I don't see how anyone could play the victim card in a giraffe case. And giving anyone the special treatment (based on some kind of subjective idea of merit or seniority or whatever) as you are requesting, how could that possibly be fair to Figgles (and some others who are no longer with us)? She expected the special treatment and didn't get it. Same is going to happen here (if we should ever get that far). |

A GA means I have to babysit both of you 24/7. That's not going to happen. There are a million ways how you could knowingly and unknowingly refer to each other. It's impossible to moderate. And I don't have the time for that kind of kindergarten stuff and neither do Peter or ZD. I get your point that this issue is of such a nature that it will show up in every conversation. So I'll give you guys another week to settle your scores. At the end of this week you either reach some final clarity on the issue or are at least willing to agree to disagree. If not, then you'll get your own special sandbox. |

For me there are only two choices in terms of experience..either experience the dream content as material, or experience the dream content as alive.Are you saying there is a different choice? For example, do you experience the dream content as dreamy? Or do you experience the dream content as empty? if you ignore my questions that's okay, I'll stop asking and that's fine. Good. |

I asked you several times to stop the giraffing. I've even pointed out specifically what your giraffes are, multiple times. Others have done so as well, multiple times. But you seem to just continue without a care. Are you really that unconscious? Or are you on a mission? Or both? Anyway, we will go with the official program now. Consider this your official warning #1.
These are your options:
1) Come empty: open up to the possibility that you may have misunderstood something or that there's something that you haven't realized yet
2) Agree to disagree: accept that there may be differences in understanding that can't be sorted out right now
3) Walk off the battlefield: move on to a different discussion or stay away from the forum for a while
4) Continue the giraffing and get banned after 3 official warnings
Let me know which option you prefer.

I have a suspicion that my banning is unavoidable, but for now I've already conceded to not talk to Andy or Reefs, and now I concede to not discuss the points of perception/cc topic. Whether or not I'll be willing to not discuss the next topic I'm asked to avoid remains to be seen.

I know you know, but just to clarify in case there is any question, this wasn't a choice or request on my part at all. There are two main issues here, a minor one that isn't about violation of forum rules (he said/she said) and a major one that is about violation of forum rules (giraffing and potential crusading). The major issue is pretty clear-cut and doesn't involve you personally. But the minor issue is still a bit messy and it does involve you personally. There have been some misunderstandings on both ends (myself included). I hope I can clear that up later. But it will take some time for me to sort this all out and bring it back into chronological order. So stay tuned. I hope we can at least resolve the minor issue amicably. |
