Though when looked closer to inside the atom all we have is empty space.. When we look up in the sky & the stars, we feel our presence is insignificant compared to the vastness of space. Similarly, if micro organisms staying inside a person`s bowels have minds, looking up at the intestinal wall, I am sure they think how insignificant their presence be when compared to the vastness of the body. Micro-organisms don't have independent thought. Though they can be anthropomorphised.

I was baptized Catholic & still practicing the religion. I started criticizing Catholicism after reading Srila Prabhupad`s books. When I got in touched with Yogananda Paramahansa`s SRF members in discussion forums, the members banned me for discussing Krishna consciousness. So, I left & joined a Krishna forum. I was banned, too, when I discussed with them that Jesus Christ is Balaram, the elder of brother of Krishna. I guess cults originated from the teachings of those who follow the SRF-Kriya path & Krishna Consciousness. Well, I really don`t mind and it does not bother me at all, if experiencing samadhi is stopping one`s heart beat & die or chanting Hare Krishna Hare Rama tirelessly. What`s important you enjoy life though as if there are still so many lives yet for you to enjoy and come. (To be good be God or just half of it?) Wouldn't that just be a case of the One wearing a different man-suit?

There have been lately known micro organisms developing resistance to antibiotics. If you kill them with say, amoxicillin. They evolve & find a way to resist amoxicillin so they wont be killed the next time around.

Instinct is an automatic response. Independence is when you may or may not respond at all.

Ok then why in your example are you implying thee cells have independent thought it very well can be automatic like a computer that repairs itself. Anyhoo it's clear that a intelligence is at work..

Here`s a picture of a cell. It has a skin ( cell membrane ), a mind ( nucleus ), a powerhouse ( mitochondria ). A micro organism can survive by preying on its host. Man, too, can not survive if he wont prey on others for food.

Also simply not true about man preying on others to survive unless you call growing a garden and call this killing your veggies.. Another thing there have been some that can directly get all they need from the Sun will you call that preying on the Sun?

The mind is a receiver and transmitter of thoughts. My thoughts may not be mine. I must have received them from other minds who are closely connected to me. For example. Do you know that the Spirit in the heart is always telling you each and every second to love God? Get a stethoscope and listen to your heart beat. It sounds this way, " Lub..Gud..Lub..Gud...Lub..Gud.."

Full circle my point to begin with is there is no independent thought..thoughts do not have ownership..thoughts are just thoughts but that's another story..however I brought this up becAuse you were using independent thought concerning cells that can change

The sad thing is in the day of so called advanced science we still don't know how to successfully reprogram them or we do but the community keeps it locked up because there is so much money in research

The sad thing is in the day of so called advanced science we still don't know how to successfully reprogram them or we do but the community keeps it locked up because there is so much money in research A viral software that attack computers was patterned after computer tech watched how a virus, a real one say, Influenza virus, if inoculated into the test subject can be infected ( if not immune ) and disables the test subjects blood circulation, control of body temperature, appetite, etc. One can not re-program an Influenza virus other wise science finds out how to manufacture an anti-viral medicine to kill it. The only way for us to counter an Influenza virus attack is to be vaccinated and become immune to it. It`s the body`s immune system, the lymphocytes/antibodies are the ones to destroy the Influenza virus.
