Hari om, My Namaste to all the spiritualteachers.org members. I am Prasanna Seshadri from Chromepet, Chennai, in Tamil Nadu state of India. I have chosen the user name "conscious seeker" because of my interest in spirituality. I am interested in spirituality and Vedanta philosophy. I look forward for the good company of spiritual masters, spiritual aspirants, spiritual seekers and spiritual enthusiasts. A very necessary aspect in spiritual path is the company of the wise and noble spiritual personalities and benefactors. This can create wonders, amazing results unexpected by us. It goes without saying that I would like to develop my wisdom of life through discussions in this forum. My salutations to all the glorious spiritual masters, sincere spiritual seekers and spiritual enthusiasts. We call this good company of spiritual people as Sathsang in sanskrit. Adhi Sankara in Bhaja Govindham says that "Through sathsang or good company, one can dissociate with the lower aspects of life like egoism, selfishness and indiscriminate desires, etc. Through such dissociation with the lower, one gains freedom from lust. Through freedom from lust, one gains steady and consistent progress in the spiritual path and through this consistency in the spirit path one gains the ultimate Self Realization or spiritual enlightenment". I wish everyone God's grace in life and a promising future. All the best. Thank you.
Pranam and kind regards. Prasanna Seshadri.

Hari Om, I am trying to pursue spirituality by aspiring for Self Realization in this life time. I do my work with the spirit of "Sarvam Shri krishnaarpanamasthu". I have done a three year, full time, residential Diploma course in Vedanta philosopy (Advaita Vedanta)in Vedanta Academy of Swami. Parthasarathy. There the environment was conducive for a well balanced sadhana as there was a specific Daily schedule beginning with waking at Brahma Muhurtha, reciting Atma Bodha Verses in group, continued by morning study, reflection, contemplation on spiritual texts. The schedule included Karma Yoga, bhakthi yoga and Gnana Yoga, giving opportunity in every area of interest and benefiting the disciples in their interests. It is already eighteen years since I completed the course and I am presently trying to participate in spiritual discussions in forums like our spiritualteachers.org. Basically, I am trained in Advaita, but by birth, I follow Visishtaadvaita of Shri. Ramanuja, the great vaishnava spiritual master. Thank you Sir for the warm welcome. I hope I will be able to communicate with you and other members of our forum and gain spiritual wisdom. All the best. May God's grace be with you. Pranam and kind regards, Prasanna Seshadri (conscious Seeker).

Welcome consciousseeker! I had no idea it was possible to do a diploma course in vedanta philosophy in a vedanta academy! I think many people here are of the opinion that you cannot really work yourself towards self-realisation, since firstly, the finite cannot gradually be transformed into the infinite; secondly, any work will be still be done from ego-identified position and the ego will not wilfully die; and thirdly, self-realisation is only ever available in the present moment and thinking that it will only be available in some future moment can become a mind-trap. But I'm really just talking the talk here as I'm also a seeker and I also do "ego-work" In any case, looking forward to your contributions, it is interesting to have someone from a bit different background onboard!
