Hi All, The TAT Foundation will receive a $1000 matching donation if we raise $1000 by May 15. With just a few small donations we can meet this challenge and advance on our goal of building a retreat center. For example, just forty people donating $25 each will reach the goal. To donate, visit: tatfoundation.org/tat-home.htm . What's this all about? The TAT Foundation is raising $250,000 to find a new home on the East coast, and, as of May 2016, we are 76% of the way to the goal. We envision a semi-rural facility, close to a university town, with a meeting hall seating up to 70 participants, kitchen and bath facilities, and a room for a live-in caretaker. Additionally, the facility would have one cabin for solitary retreats. Ideally, the property would border public lands to provide a buffer of quiet and solitude, and have enough acreage to allow for additional cabins, sleeping quarters, and facilities over time. A resident teacher, week-long retreats and intensives, public events and other activities are planned. Thank you.

Thank you! We now have $420 raised towards the challenge. Just 24 more people donating $25 each will get us to the goal.

WHY and what for would anybody would want to "retreat" anyway?
Can you answer that question, Shawn?
What's the deal?
What difference would having a place like a "retreat-center" would make and for whom and why is that even neccessary? THAT would interest me a lot, personally, as some living-in-a-big-city-hermit.
A "special" place for "special" people (peeps) with "special" needs is needed for WHOM???!
A one sentence answer would be sufficiant.
Thanks in advance.

And don't get me wrong, Shawn, that was a merely rethorical question. I know the answer. But do YOU know the answer too? THAT is what is of interest for me.
Bann me anytime you wanna for asking serious questions. It's not the first time that would happen to me, as you surely know by now.
TAT-foundation? Is what exactely all about?
A one-liner would be sufficant.
Thanks in advance.

Even if I never go there knowing that there's a place within driving distance run by sane adults with an interest in this stuff would be a warm fuzzy.

Even if I never go there knowing that there's a place within driving distance run by sane adults with an interest in this stuff would be a warm fuzzy. Yeah, maybe it's fun. But I think all ashrams, or retreat-centers, how ever you wanna call that kinda thingy, are for sissys only. That's just my take on it as a big-city-shaman in disguise.

Sissies, he-men, and big-city shamans exist only in imagination. The truth is beyond imagining.

What I'm talking about, Zendancer, is very real. You can touch it, feel it and you can show it to your friends.

What I'm talking about, Anja, is neither real nor unreal, neither big nor small, neither tangible nor intangible. I call it THIS. Other people call it by other names. It simply is what it is. THIS, in the form of some people, goes to retreat centers. In the form of other people, IT doesn't. Perfect!
