This thread is for Seth quotes. You can post any Seth quotes you find interesting. It doesn't have to be non-duality related. If you want to discuss certain quotes, then please start a separate thread and discuss it there.
Update:
I've merged the "Seth (QUOTES ONLY!)" thread with "The Seth Material" discussion thread. Having quotes and discussion in separate threads was an arrangement of the past that doesn't seem to serve a purpose anymore. It seems more intuitive to have it all in one thread now.

Bodily consciousness
Seth: "The main characteristic of bodily consciousness is its spontaneity. This allows it to work at an incredibly swift rate that could not be handled by the topmost conscious portions of the mind. Its operation is due to an almost instantaneous kind of consciousness, in which what is known is known, with no distance between, say, the knower and the the known."

"Emotional power behind your expectations powers your expectations into physical reality."
"What you call suggestion is indeed expectation."
"...you construct your physical universe and your private environment in line with your inner expectations, for they mirror perfectly the deepest areas of your own inner reality."
"So your soul, that which you are, constructs your physical daily reality for you from the nature of your thoughts and expectations. You can readily see, therefore how important your subjective feelings really are."
"We have spoken of expectations. These, you see, are electrical realities which may explain their importance; for you not only sometimes predict so called future events, but you create their actuality within the electrical field, and therefore insure their existence one way or another within the physical field."
"If you direct your inner self with confidence to steer you through your physical existence, it will do so. If you concentrate upon difficulties you will not allow it to do so."

"In your system of reality you are learning what mental energy is, and how to use it. You do this by constantly transforming your thought and emotions into physical form. You are supposed to get a clear picture of your inner development by perceiving the exterior environment. What seems to be a perception, an objective concrete event independent from you, is instead the materialization of your own inner emotions, energy, and mental environment."

The broken-hearted and the heartless
Seth: "Many people who have heart trouble feel that they have 'lost the heart' for life. They may feel broken-hearted for any of many reasons. They may feel heartless, or imagine themselves to be so cold-hearted that they punish themselves literally by trying to lose their heart. With many people having such difficulties, the addition of love in the environment may work far better than any heart operation. A new pet given to a bereaved individual has saved more people from needing heart operations than any physician. In other words, 'a love transplant' in the environment may work far better overall than a heart-transplant operation, or a bypass, or whatever; in such ways the heart is allowed to heal itself."

Biological Optimism (1)
Seth: "All elements of life are optimistic. This expectation to grow and flourish is addressed within each atom, cell, and organ, and all of life's parts contain this optimistic expectation and are blessed with the promise that their abilities will grow to maturity. Children spontaneously take it for granted that their acts will result in the most favorable circumstances, and that any given situation will have a favorable end result. These attitudes pervade in the animal kingdom also. They are embedded in the life of insects, and in fish and fowl. They are the directions that provide life with purpose, direction and impetus. No organism automatically expects to find starvation or disappointment or detrimental conditions - yet even when such circumstances are encountered, they in no way affect the magnificent optimism that is at the heart of life." Seth: You have allowed the ego to become over developed and overly specialized . In many respects you are in a dream. Its is you who have made the dream to vivid. You were always to be aware of your own inner reality.

“Therefore, as always, make of this voice what you choose to make of it. Make of me what you choose to make of me, but recognize within yourselves the vitality of your being. And look to no man or no idea or no woman or no dogma, but the vitality of your own being, and trust it. And that which offends your soul, turn away from, but trust yourself.”

“Your doctors are also the victims of their own belief system, in other words. They constantly surround themselves with negative suggestions. When disease is seen as an invader, forced upon the integrity of the self for no reason, then the individual seems powerless and the conscious mind an adjunct. The patient is sometimes compelled to sacrifice one organ after another to his beliefs, and to the doctor’s.”

Biological Optimism (2)
Seth: "This optimism is reflected in many other areas of life also. Many birds in their fantastic migrations demonstrate an amazing optimism, traveling thousands of miles to distant shores, almost literally flying by faith, as it were, ignoring all dangers, unbeseiged by doubts. There is no hesitancy, but the sure flight. Birds do not question whether or not the weather will be favorable, the winds fair or foul. They simply fly toward their destination. Even if some birds do fall or die, this in no way impedes or undermines the faith of the others. Monarch butterflies, in their remarkable migrations, often fly toward land that they have never seen themselves – and yet they reach their destination. In all such cases there is an inbred biological faith, that courage and vitality, that biological optimism. It acts the same in people, triggering the necessary bodily responses. Only when that optimism is severely tampered with do the physical mechanisms falter. Even then, however, all creatures are sustained by that innate gift, that inner sense of security that not only propels creatures toward life, but safely conducts them past physical life and past death's doorway." Biologically valid thoughts
Seth: "The physical body can only react in the present moment. Worrying about future events, or dwelling upon past unfavorable situations, only confuses the body's mechanisms, and undermines their precise activity in the present moment. In a basic way, it is against nature's purposes to contemplate a dire future, for all of nature operates on the premise that the future is assured. Nature is everywhere filled with promise — not only the promise of mere survival, but the promise of beauty and fulfillment. Once again, the keen sense of promise is innate within each portion of the body. It triggers the genes and chromosomes into their proper activity, and it promotes feelings of optimism, exuberance, and strength."

Self-approval and well-being
Seth: "A feeling of self-approval is absolutely necessary for any true sense of well-being; it is not virtuous in any way to put yourself down, or to punish yourself, because you do not feel you have lived up to your best behavior at any given time. All creatures are born with a keen sense of self-approval. Each creature is born proud of itself and loving itself. " (98)

Dying and death
Seth: “People die when they are ready to die, for reasons that are their own. No person dies without a reason. You are not taught that, however, so people do not recognize their own reasons for dying, and they are not taught to recognize their own reasons for living — because you are told that life itself is an accident in a cosmic game of chance.” (835)

A nail on a window sill
Seth: "Each creature is born proud of itself. That same self-approval is also experienced in varying ways not only by creatures as you think of them, but also by atoms and molecules, and by all orders of matter. Ruburt (Jane Roberts) once wrote a poem about a nail on a window sill. He endowed the nail with consciousness and self-awareness. Now every nail is indeed in its own way responsive to stimuli. It acts and reacts. A nail may not choose to jump down from a window sill and dance about the room, but a nail is indeed aware of the room, of the window sill, and aware of the temperature on both sides of the window. The atoms and molecules that compose the nail possess their own lively consciousnesses. Their motion is directed by electrons, so that within itself the nail actually experiences constant motion. Indeed, a dance is executed of great symmetry and rhythm. The nail, then, is indeed filled with its own sense of self-approval. I mention this only to stress the fact that self-delight and self-approval are natural characteristics - characteristics that actually make your entire physical world, and world of experience possible." The body is a natural self-healer
Seth: "Remember that the body is a natural self-healer... It is perfectly natural for each cell in the body, for each organ and each portion of the body to heal itself, and in the same terms it is really 'unnatural' not to trust the body, rather than looking at it with suspicion... It is vital that you trust the body, particularly in the light of the medical profession's suspicions of the body's natural processes." (111)
