I'm a seeker from South Africa. I have just had first on-line contact with who I have a strong intuition is my teacher. Brought up lots of emotions...excitement...fear...especially impatience. How do I prepare for the first meeting? What will I say. How will it be? The mind is very busy...deep breath...lol

The mind is very busy...deep breath...lol hey coachnic....You must have an idea of what you are looking for, because this person somewhat fits. Does this come from inside you, or does it come from things you have studied? ...books, online material? Usually when we are beginning a search, really, many things in life, we are going to choose something that ~fits us~. But if we choose what fits us, this maybe does not lead to truth, because we don't know (or we wouldn't be searching). So, are we choosing a teacher or a teaching because it fits our likes? What is your primary goal in life? What is your aim? Find out if this person will be able to help you accomplish your aim. Do they come from a historical tradition, or did they just 'cook up' their teaching? What will be asked of you? Will there be any demands made right from the start? How do they feel about practices? Concerns: Do they make their living from the teaching? If so, how much do they charge? Do they offer guarantees? (There are no guarantees). At what point will you be able to meet with other students? Can you talk freely to them? What is his (or her) demeanor? Do they seem very serious? (overly) Do they have a ready genuine smile, laugh, or a fake smile? Now, some of these things you will not be able to ask directly, but they might be good to keep in the back of your mind. Some of these things you might have already been able to determine from online contact. |

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. Salute. I will keep these things in mind. I have had a Skype conversation with Linda Clair and I feel a strong resonanace with her. I will explore this further.
