I was driving around today when I spotted a line of parked rr cars with some graffiti and got a quick shot of this one but I don't know how to enlarge the picture to get a better look at the actual artwork (the phrase "you can't win" are to the left of the fingers):

It's just you that can't.. ?

I thought it was rather Zen or Buddhist...I'm reading a book right now that is helping me immensely, to understand ego, and the mystifying notion of self and all that sort of thing. In the book, The Iron Cow of Zen, talks about me-as-center and me-as-periphery and while it starts out confusing, is clarifying these things for me (thanks, Laughter, for mentioning the book a while back).

Ok, cool. Yeah I noticed his reference to that book as well. Yeah being honest about what the me-as-centre is involved in can quieten it, and can give the space for me-as-periphery to start to have a clear look around. If it's possible that it really is all, rather Zen or Buddhist.. as in, the view from me-as-periphery is inherently beautiful. Then me-as-centre will accept this. Quite honestly. Then a few months later, me-as-centre and me-as-periphery are not even necessary anymore. Though a bow of gratitude is offered to them nevertheless.

Low gives the mind no place to retreat to and then offers the prescription: "arouse the mind without resting it on anything" -- as a 16/7 walking/waking practice. For me, personally, this was devastating.
