It would be nice if there's a folder to list spiritual movies, books, music.. :-)

I think we already have a thread listing all of the spiritual movies forum members recommended. Anybody remember the title of it or the timeframe? I know that Razor's Edge and Groundhog Day were on the list.

I know that Razor's Edge and Groundhog Day were on the list. Click the Search tab above. When you are there, on upper right you'll see a section that reads Where to search...in the box that reads " where the thread title contains" type in the word "Movies" and you'll find what you are looking for.

Agora. True story (as much as we know about her) of Hypatia of Alexandria, philosopher/scientist-mathematician. It's sort of a battle between Christians, Jews and pagan philosophers, 4th & 5th century Egypt. I pretty-much fell in love with Hypatia, played by Rachel Weisz (which didn't hurt).
Where the Heart Is. When it came out I took my youngest daughter, then 15, to see it. When we walked out I told her when it came out on video I was going to buy her a copy and she had to watch it at least once a year for the rest of her life. Natalie Portman is very pregnant, and has baby while living in a Wal-Mart. The TV version will not do, you have to see the full version.
Whale Rider. In modern New Zealand the son of the native Shaman passes up taking on the "family business". In a time of need, young teenage granddaughter wants and seems to get picked for the job, a not so easy chore as this has always been a male duty.

People do things all of the time with different levels of their consciousness, a lot of things that they are not even aware of. I think movies are one of these places where many different messages can be passed. Sometime the messages are up front and from the writers, while sometimes the messages are being sent out to the collective consciousness from the collective sub-conscious of us all. It is like we are trying to wake ourselves up.
Powder; a movie that came out to show us what our potential is if we could only change a few things in ourselves.
The Matrix; a movie that came to show us that the world we live in is just an illusion, and there are some people in this world who can help you awaken to the real world. Defending Your Life; this one helped me to see just how much fear got in the way of my living my life to the fullest.
Avatar; showing us what our connection to this world could be like. And what the world looks like if we all could use our minds eye.
Peaceful Warrior; One person's journey to find himself. And when you are ready the universe will send the right person along. A teacher, friend, or what ever is needed.

... or, two threads are fine as well! The other thread is for Movies. This thread is for spiritual movies (and books and music).
