I kinda liked this. I thought I'd share it here.
Holding Hands
Next time you have the opportunity, ask a friend to spend a few moments holding hands with you.
Look at your hands holding her hands.
There’s a boundary between your hands and hers.
But both your hands and hers are given here in this one consciousness – this Single Eye that has neither your name nor her name on it. It is space for both of you.
There you are two, here you are one…
As this person this is my body, and as that person that is your body. As consciousness, both bodies are in Me…

Hmmm, to the contrary I should say that loving someone is setting them free. I don't want to form an amorphous blob with them, I want to revel in the friction between us, in the knowledge that we are two islands that can never meet no matter how close we get, in the passion of an unstoppable force meeting an unmovable object. Get those heart strings out of here, they're disgusting!

To be the space for another is love. Unconditional capacity for what arises. Face there, no face here. It is quite beautiful, maybe that is why it brought that song to jour mind.

The space of acceptance, appreciation and gratitude perhaps, but not a physical space. The desire to remove the physical space, as in a joining or sexual union, is symbolic, in the mind, for the attempt to unify that which only seems separate by virtue of a concerted effort to separate. In a way, Love is the ceasing of that effort.

It's a nice example of how to possibly turn an intellectual understanding of a single being/consciousness into an experiential one.

To see no face here and a face there is the ground being. To see face to face is the ground being me facing another. It's a matter of being awake to the ground and placing your attention there.

Yes although I see it more as a way to put to words what there are no words to fully relate.

Yes and to some it seems ironic that we would have to put into words the obviousness of our open aware presence.
