I didn't realize it was a Christopher Nolan film, no wonder it's so good... (couldn't see the link, it's restricted). Ah sorry you couldn't see it. I'll leave you with his Desert Island Discs then. Hope that plays for you www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/b09rwygmYes, thanks, will get to it later, looks interesting. On some cable channel last night (CNN?) there was a two hour long program about movies, The Movies. Saw the 2nd half, taped the first half. Very interesting, the second half was about eighties movies. Very short segment about important films, maybe 10-15 seconds each so it covered many movies.

Quentin Tarantino is an acquired habit. I didn't see his last three films. Once upon a Time...In Hollywood is advertised (blurb) as his masterpiece. I decided to take a chance on it after seeing previews. Just saw it. I was not disappointed. Leonardo DiCaprio is excellent, Brad Pitt is awesome (Leonardo is awesome in his own way). From previews you get that Leo is the actor, Brad is his stuntman, that's the difference is the awesomenesses). I can't say much about it, well, not much more than the previews (it takes place in 1969). I can't even say why I can't say anything (but don't go past the previews in finding anything out about the film, IOW, no spoilers allowed).

As I enjoy sci fi movies
I've just picked up Alita Battle Angel.
By James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez. Avatar and Sin City are great movies
Having seen the background behind the making of the movie I felt pulled to watch it. Also watching the original series of Star Trek on Netflix amazing. Spock is a real dude.
Have a great weekend guys.

From the previews I put Alita on my must see list. Liked it. The original Star Trek is still on my top three or four all-time favorite TV programs. I was a big hockey fan. I think the last year it came on Friday night. There was usually a home game Friday night, so it was a big decision whether to watch Star Trek or go to the hockey game (I had an uncle that always went if my parents didn't go). Other TV favorites: Doctor Who, Joan of Arcadia, MI-5 (Spooks in GB), Kung Fu.

There's seems to be a backlash from one of the scenes, Bruce Lee appearing to lose a fight to Brad Pitt π( stuntman)

I haven't seen the film yet. It was released in the UK earlier this month. I am going to have to wait for its release on other formats as it's a lengthy film. A movie I would rather watch at home. I do enjoy Quentin Tarantino films. Even Kill Bill. My cousin ordered a limited edition version from the Far East as one of scenes before the fight scene with O-rens bodyguard. With the crazy 88 has a different scene well colour scene in the limited edition version. It's all entertainment at the end of the day like most movies where the lines of fact and fiction become blurred especially in movies like these. Like Jackie Chan he used to perform his own stunts and in the end scenes he seems to spend more time in hospital as as a stunt man than on scene. So I guess most stunt men have a similar position on movies. It can't be an easy job. The film Blow, I remember watching it with my cousin and as Johnny Depp was playing the role and at the end it showed the real image of George Jung. And he said wth he just smashed the whole film. Scared the s out of me. He looks nothing like Johnny DeppπI did say to him apparently they had to settle for Penelope Cruz as they couldn't find anyone more beautiful to play the part of his partner. I can't repeat what he said after that as it's x rated And he laughed one of those deep belly laughs where you can't stop laughing and you feel like you are going to die......and the silence comes in Ever had one of those belly laughs π

Saw The Current War today. It's very good. Nikola Tesla is not a main character, but he is a significant character, basically a visionary, a hero. Most of the film is the war between Westinghouse, who is in favor of AC electricity and Edison and his DC electricity. Westinghouse comes off with the most integrity, and money smarts. There is an interesting encounter Westinghouse had during the Civil War which we go back to in flashbacks during times of crisis for Westinghouse. Another interesting moment comes near the end of the film when Westinghouse + Tesla are bidding against JP Morgan + Edison for the right to light the 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair. When Westinghouse goes before the deciding Board, he is told he has up to one hour to give his proposal. He gives each member of the panel a copy of the specks for his proposal, but then gives his pitch in less than 30 seconds, in one sentence. Very worthwhile to see. Edison creates a lot of drama, he comes off pretty-much an a__hole.

Watched "The Nun's Story" yesterday. Excellent movie. There was one line that I found interesting: "Do good and then disappear." - that's karma yoga, isn't it? I heard A-H say something similar, (paraphrasing): if you don't care about getting credit, you can do a lot of good in this world.

Saw "Parasite" yesterday, and loved the modern architecture and the cinematography. The story is fascinating, and toward the end an underlying existential theme became explicit. It has many unforeseen twists and turns, and nothing can be written about it to avoid spoliers.
