First off HCSpirit, I really like the writing in your blog. It's clear, humorous and I found myself nodding to most everything you've written. Good use of colour, clear font/contrast. Many things came to mind that I wanted to ask you about. For example: What is your motivation for anonymity? You said "drawing attention to myself can distract from the points I’m trying to make"...well it can do, but you then immediately go on to break your own rule with one of the strongest pieces of writing on your site, which is very personal. Can you really separate yourself from the points you're making, do you think? Are you trying to hide your ego away so that it doesn't derail your attempts to be helpful again? When I was reading your definition of Hard Core Spirituality I was reminded of something I wrote a while ago about where I am with the whole not-following-a-religion thing - The Self Selected Few. It applies to me, I don't know if you'll see yourself in it at all or not. Hope you don't mind me asking: Are you on this forum primarily as part of your work on self, or are you primarily seeking to help others?

You inspired me to find the post you are referring to... hardcorespirituality.org/2009/04/17/more-about-being-hard-core/Great story! Yes, that seems to be why we grow - because it's too confining and hurts too much not to...Life does the moving, I do the accommodating/getting out of the way, and it works out quite well for everyone... In response to the "just cause fallacy" reference, it seems that the fallacy centers around the idea that homelessness, etc. etc. isn't okay. That it doesn't have a value. Of course no one WANTS to be homeless (at least few people do), but recognizing the value that it has keeps us out of the ridiculous "they must have deserved it argument." The "they must have deserved it" argument only comes from feeling so guilty that one cannot actually deal with the situation and must close off to it...
