I've noticed off and on that when I've gone to delete an extra post that it doesn't go through - finding that I have to delete a duplicate post because I think my post hasn't posted because nothing happens, so you hit the post button again and end up with two. I believe I've seen quite a few extra posts from various people - sometimes more than two duplicate posts.

I haven't been around for a good while until a couple of weeks ago, but I'm sure I know why this web site has been set up this way. About a year ago or thereabouts a member named tathagata sort of .......well.......I'd rather not say specifically (oh...never mind, he sort of went nuts...it looked that way from the outside anyway), but those here then experienced h-im. He went through and deleted a great majority of his posts, if not all of them, and doing so made mis-mash of many threads, made them incomprehensible almost, sort of like, The Reluctant Fundamentalist (a book I browsed, but didn't read , must be the most annoying book ever written, as, if I recall correctly, is only 1/2 of a conversation).
My guess is that resulted in the new policy.......

That's an interesting theory - I just thought it was a technical thing. I'm not sure they would want to have members struggle with trying to post and having it look as though they didn't and so they press the create post button again - and again in some cases, out of sheer frustration only to find they've posted it 2 or 3 times. I'm not entirely sure what you're saying is happening - your theory, anyway. Appreciate your comments, anyhoo.

The glitches I've encountered are all technical related to crappy forum software. I doubt there is an anti-delete policy as I am able to delete my double posts.

Dear Dude/Dudette,
my favorites at the moment are:
"Could not connect to search server. Please try again."
and
"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request."
and
"You must provide a message"
