What is the forum's stance regarding the edit-delete functions?
As I see it, words are the intellectual property of the author, to do with as he or she pleases.
I did not appreciate another member calling me out on it, like its some big conspiracy or emotional failings or something.
Obviously the TOS gives the forum the right to remove or modify any material they see fit. That's not at issue.

Once upon a time I was a farmer.
Seeing that "the forum" declined to take a stance regarding this issue, I assume 'intellectual property' is not really in dispute.
However, it is also understood that 'gaps' or 'revisions' can be cause confusion, or even worse ... TMT, which may not be productive in seeking to uncover "what in the blazes is really going on". :-)
There are specific reasons why some people prefer to write in pencil, and had the question being posed in a kinder gentler way, that reasoning would have been given.
On a different note, it is really quite something the transformative and healing power of .. 'taking a break' .. 'stepping aside' .. 'letting go' .. 'getting out of your head' .. (or surrendering, should you not object to such a spiritual word .. lol). Even a brief respite can 'snap you out of it', so to speak.

Once upon a time I was a farmer. You mean like .... 2 days ago? What 'intellectual property'? Your posts are definitely not your 'property'. They are public domain. So think before you post. If you want to be remembered as a honest, kind and humble boddhisattva I suggest not picking up the mocking and the re-re-re-editing/deleting again with your new account.

My Tuppenceworth here is that editing your posts to fix typos and failed quote blocks or other formatting issues is welcome. Anything that changes the actual meaning of the post is likely to cause confusion if the thread has moved on. In that case it would be clearer to either clarify in a new post or indicate in the original post that editing has occured.
I do not see this as an IP issue since other users cannot change your post and people generally do not modify quoted text. I see this as a clear and honest communication issue.
Edit: Like this.
Edit 2: Deleting posts I'm totally against. It renders any discussion worthless to those brave newbies who seek wisdom in the archives - god help them. Still, I agree they are the property of the author and if the author feels that they cannot continue their lives in peace with those posts floating around on the internet (and if you've done a Steven Cundiff then there might be good reason for that) then so be it.

Makes no sense to me. How do you prove that it was really you who wrote it when you don't even have to sign up with your real name? How do you prove that it wasn't you who posted "poo poo" in every thread all day long but your 3 year old toddler?

Sorry I don't understand the problem here.
Is Farmer/Patmos writing "poo poo" things, having them quoted, changing the original and then denying he wrote what's been quoted?

Peter - First, my apologies if any of my actions have added to your already extensive work load. You have an unenviable job here, and I think you handle it with maturity and a very high level of tolerance and patience. God speed moving forward.
As for the topic of this thread, I realize I've made a series of errors in the past, and I will make a concerted effort in the future not to repeat them.
As for my reasons and rationale, that will take some time for me to word carefully (I'll just post a new reply ... lol)
