hello, i recently read your assessment of Sailor Bob - I was sad to hear you say that he wasn't the full ticket. This is not because I think he is - i honestly don't know, but think so - it's that I think it's not good for you to pass such judgement on so little aquaintance. I agree with your assesment of Andrew Cohen - I met him and the only question i had was how anyone could take him seriously. I think the frauds are pretty obvious but when it comes to the genuine teachers i think we shouldn't be so quick to judge.

How do you tell the difference between someone who is not a genuine teacher and someone who is simply saying something in a way you don't want to hear it? (essentially a personality/motif conflict)

Well. I do not know for sure. I guess it has to do with the effect on me personally on contact with that person in any form; face to face, book, skype, telephone, etc. Also there is the results in the students. With someone like Andrew Cohen, as I said, the results in students are awful and - to my mind - he is an obvious fraud in terms of what he says and does. Of course I do not know for sure but if he's enlightened I'll eat my underpants! As for Sailor Bob - just rings true to me. Yes, I know some people who've spent time with him - yes it seems he's the real thing. Don't know of course but if he's a fraud I'll take a bath in my own cr-p! Yes, It's possible for someone to say all the right things and still strike me as false. It's also possible for someone - Tony Parsons (thanks for executing the path for me) in my case - to say exactly what I don't want to hear in a way that I hate and for me to know that they are telling me the truth or more exactly hitting me with it. I suppose the real answer is - does contact with them burn away your bullshit? Not just be a bit challenging(Cohen). Still all experiential - no science here!
