First one in a slightly unusual format (V for Vendetta). www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JQ6uvZ7whSoSecond one... ''We Are All One Consciousness'' www.david icke.com/articles/media-and-appearances/36572-we-are-all-one-consciousness-human-race-get-off-your-knees Please note on the second one I had to put a space between the 'd' and the 'i' because the auto censor came up with davipenise! ;D

Are you seriously recommending Icke, Andrew? Sorry if that's a judgmental question, but the guy just bangs on about the same things every time he speaks. He's a soap-boxer, and there's no spontaneity or flow in his talks. For me, that's the biggest indicator there is that something isn't right. What he's talking about may be sound enough, but the way he does, invalidates it 100%, IMO. He seems like a nice enough guy, however.

Did you think I am recommending him as a joke or a prank? I cant see how what I said could be taken as a joke or a prank....could you clarify for me please so I can avoid that miscommunication in future? I do agree he covers the same ground quite repetitively, but we could look at the way in which the material has deepened and expanded over a 20 year period (he has clearly researched many different fields), and I think that if the material hasnt been seen, its well worth a watch. Although a definite soap boxer, having seen him interviewed several times, I wouldnt say that he lacks spontaneity or flow. There are people on this forum that repeat themselves a lot but are repeating themselves in a fairly flowing and spontaneous way. My guess is that David has an egoic need for justice playing itself out, and there is a sense of there being 'something to prove', but I dont think that that invalidates the material necessarily, and Im not sure he would deny there is some ego. What aspect of the material itself do you think is invalid? I have my own doubts on some of the subjects he speaks on, and yet, there is some stuff he speaks on that I find myself nodding in agreement.

Hi Andrew - I was just expressing my surprise/skepticism in a dramatic way, not questioning your seriousness. (You know, "Are you serious??") Apologies if it came off as disrespectful.
I'm not sure what I can add to what I already said, except a personal remark, which is that I used to listen to Icke a lot, not for information or inspiration but simply because I found his rather mannered, labored way of speaking weirdly relaxing. (It's an odd quirk of mine which I haven't been able to account for: Whitley Strieber's stilted delivery appeals to me for the same reason). However, the last few times I have tried to listen to Icke, I've wound up feeling repelled by how repetitive he is, and how little genuine insight he seems to possess (true of Strieber also, despite some amazing writings). Icke seems to me to be more like an actor reading lines, totally into the part, too much so in fact, but who doesnt seem to embody what he is saying.

Icke seems to me to be more like an actor reading lines, totally into the part, too much so in fact, but who doesnt seem to embody what he is saying. It sounds like your path has unfolded slightly in reverse to mine. I speak from a position of having studied and un-learned from many of the 'renowned' non-dual teachers in the last 12 years, and I used to somewhat look down my nose on people recommending Icke. These days, ironically, I think it is worth paying some attention to. Someone said to me a couple of years back that the non-dual body of work fits in nicely with the agenda of the elite. I disagreed quite strongly at the time, but then I was locked into a path to peace (or Peace) to a much greater degree than I am now. These days, I think there may be an element of truth in what that person said. One thing I find interesting is that fluoride is now widely reported to suppress thought, and it is in the drinking water. And yet quite often we hear non-dualists basically advocating a 'suppression of thought'. We talk about the problem of an overly-active mind, the problem of imagination, the problem of thinking. We are often told to still the mind, to pay attention only on what is most obviously appearing before us (the tree for example), we are told that looking to the past and to the future is not the way forward. The non-dual body of work takes the mind round in endless loops of abstract reification. In a sense it keeps us busy in the same way that the elite keeps us busy with paying the bills. According to David Icke, a point is being missed...I cant help but think these days that it is a fair point.

Similar to one that McKenna makes also, that Maya's trump card is spirituality. Certainly awareness that hasn't been through the paranoia stage is insufficiently rooted in our current 'reality," IMO. But for me I guess Icke is one of the many dead buddhas which my path is littered with.

Not so much because Icke is a dead buddha for me, but I can relate to what you are saying here.

Andrew: your usual dreams are so much better than this guy's nightmare... My dreams are indeed very positive. But then again I can see the potential is there for things to be so much better than they are. Sure I can take a wide view and see perfection if I want to but that doesnt really change the facts of this reality (or this collective dream if you prefer).

That's quite a change from 'manifestation approaches.'
Don't fall for Icke's imagination when yours is excellent!
