There are different people who come to this forum. They may find it of interest to discuss why they have chosen this forum which is devoted mainly to the discussions about Oneness. The name of the forum is Spiritual Teachers, but the only teaching allowed here is the teaching about Oneness, as if it were the only one in the history of the mankind. But the forum is not named like "Oneness and its realization", or "Oneness - the only true teaching of all times", or just "Oneness".
Why?
It is very enigmatic.
What is also of interest for me is how the forum is organized. Each thread looks the same, and the discussions inevitably merge with each other turning around this favorite subject about Oneness. Yes, there are also lots of jokes here and there, but this sacred cow, - Oneness, - is the subject any discussion starts and finishes with. Or almost any. It looks like an enigmatic obsession. Oneness, Oneness everywhere.
Even more enigmas.
The important, basic questions about Oneness are not answered, as if answering them threatened it, could dismantle it, and discredit the myth about it forever.
Is it due to the fragile nature of principles that lie in the foundation of this theory?
Who needs it then?
If it is so fragile and lacks vital capacity it's high time to slaughter it, and stop feeding it .
Is it the reason it is guarded so thoroughly on this forum that it is at its last gasp, and needs special treatment?

The important, basic questions about Oneness are not answered, as if answering them threatened the life of that sacred cow, could dismantle it, and discredit the myth about it forever. What are the basic questions? I think the consensus is that oneness is just a tool in our box to dismantle silly ideas. There isn't actually a oneness. But I see where you're coming from. Some people here are very sloppy with their language and very confusing to beginners.

For ex., this: {Arisha : Can you just say : "Realization of Oneness is possible". Or "Realization of Oneness is sure to be taking place". Can you? ____________________________________________________ Thank you.}
I asked this direct question in another thread, and expected the direct answer. No answer was given. The person said something like I should know about their answer. But I asked because there had been contradictions and discrepancy regarding this question.

Yeah, I've also never heard a coherent answer to those questions.
I've also never heard a coherent definition for 'realization'. In effect 'realizing oneness' is like a rorschach test, its meaning is so vague that you get 1000 different opinions if you ask 1000 different people.

The name of the forum is Spiritual Teachers, but the only teaching allowed here is the teaching about Oneness... I don't think this is true. Anybody can discuss whatever they want to here. ...this sacred cow, - Oneness, - is the subject any discussion starts and finishes with. Or almost any. It looks like an enigmatic obsession. Oneness, Oneness everywhere. Well, perhaps it is because the people who have the most of the free time for discussions here are those who enjoy talking about Oneness. I would like to discuss other things, for example, but I just don't have that much time to spend on a discussion forum. I come here, look if there's something interesting, and if there is some time I may contribute with a brief post and that's it. I will definitely not discuss anything I have no personal experience with. And I have no personal experience with Oneness on the conscious level as yet. Is it due to the fragile nature of principles that lie in the foundation of this theory? Why disregard other people's experience? I have a great respect for people whose realization is higher than mine and to many of them Oneness is not a theory. The fact that it still is a theory for me - because I haven't realized it yet myself - is no reason for me to play it down. I personally know at least two highly respectable people who say that Oneness is the reality - from their own experience. Should I say they are confused? Or even liars? That my ego knows better? Hey Merrick,
Nice post. The only thing missing is seeing that there's nothing that's "your own" or "their own."

The forum is open to any kind of spiritual teaching, but most people who post here are primarily interested in seeing through the illusion of selfhood, becoming free of mind dominance, discovering what's going on, and learning how to transcend a dualistic perception of the world.
If someone wanted to discuss a particular religion, there probably wouldn't be much interest because most posters have reached a point in their spiritual search where they are looking for something they intuit underlies all religions.
The forum was created by Shawn Nevins as a source for people who shared his interest in non-duality and would aid them in finding the best teachers of non-duality. Because oneness is the primary interest of most posters that's what is at the core of most discussions.
There are both seekers and finders on this site. The seekers ask questions, and the finders point to the truth in many different ways. The finders have no interest in promoting any kind of beliefs. This is because they have had experiences and realizations that have awakened them to the reality that underlies all thoughts. They are always pointing to that reality and discussing what it means to realize it.
The finders are here because they enjoy helping serious seekers find what they found. For them, life is a mystery, a joy, a celebration, and a wonder without compare. They are here because they love.
Behind all of the seeming discord and ruthlessness there is only love.
Kabir, the fifteenth century Hindu/Muslim saint has two quotes that sum up everything about what underlies the world that most people perceive:
1. "I saw the truth for fifteen seconds, and I became a servant for life."
2."There is a Secret One inside us. The planets and all the galaxies pass through his hands like beads. One can only look at That One with luminous eyes."

Posts about cables don't challenge accepted thought, so are of no consequence.
For the same reason, the Pope doesn't issue statements about Skateboarding.

Arisha: you're only looking at words and ideas. What do you expect from them? They are fleeting.
Look at the universe all around you. It's been around forever. It's alive and kicking. It's 'oneness.'

I don't think this is true. Anybody can discuss whatever they want to here. Can they? Have you tried? I haven't. But I don't see other discussions as being merely about Oneness. To me they are more about awareness, which is understable on a forum like this. Not that it is not allowed to talk about anything else, but because living mindfully is the very basis of a balanced life, and so most discussions eventually steer in that direction, quite naturally. And I accept that increased awareness may lead to the realization of Oneness. Merrick

Posts about cables don't challenge accepted thought, so are of no consequence. Thought is never accepted, only briefly entertained. Though, 'briefly' varies widely across the board.

The teaching that cannot provide any coherent basics about its main ideas is something so futile and senseless that no wonder it needs to be blown out and artificially propped up. It's like selling carrion. You know, when a gypsy wants to sell an old jade, they inflate it with air through the ass, - and this is what is going on here, on this forum. I wonder, why people take part in this swindling? That's why I asked about the aim.

I've seen a lot of different discussions here.
One of the guiding principles of a lot of posters is 'no belief is true.' That tends to cause topics based on beliefs and assumptions to disappear after a while.
