If our spiritual journey can not lead us to love then of what worth was it?
Each of us at some point in our lives have developed some type of spiritual belief.either passed down from a previous generation or influenced by a zealous spiritual organization .And history has testified to the sad story of war and massacre in the name of spirituality or ones religious beliefs. If we study the ancient writings of the earliest waring civilizations we will find at the root of their battles was the need to dominate and by force infuse their spiritual ideologies upon others or in some cases promote a genocide of their fellow human beings because of their beliefs. this was the very creation of the trauma we see spread far and wide through out the land today, but such was not always the case if we have grown up with wars and reports of wars and if history as far back as the written records have documented these conflicts it easy to believe that they have always been but the fact is there was a period of time where love ruled and war was unknown ,for historical accuracies its best that each one of us research the history of the sword, club and other ancient weapons of warfare and then recognize that the periods of time prior warfare was unknown to the human psyche.and every battle waged there after was promoted by debate.
In reflection of my own spiritual journey I must admit encountering many debates that cause me to comment ,in retrospect " of what worth was it"I can recall walking away blood pressure elevated and ego full blown ,why why did I do that and of what value was it .My honest answer would have to be "none'.I cant see where love was inspired and peace was instilled and must honestly say that stoking the ego ,and not love was the motivation. We are all going to have opinions .but at some point in our spiritual journey we must agree to disagree with out harming the peace that we sought from the beginning"I believe Dr Wayne dyer a noted spiritual instructor said it best "If we have a choice between being right and being kind choose kindness. What wise counsel much violence and strife have been born from the needs of men in power to prove themselves right.
The universe in its own magical way is always waiting for us to sharpen our wits and gain understanding.I don't think that we will ever understand every thing and perhaps we were not meant to .We always appear to be scratching the surface of knowledge in such a way that our inquisitive needs are always fed,or else could you imagine how boring life would be if we knew everything.
When we allow love to be the crossroads at which we feast, laugh, rejoice we are truly enjoying our lives and amplifying our day lets face it life is a fast ride we spend half of our lives being told were too young, and the other half being told were too old.
I agree with the Beatles when they wisely said"Life is very short and there is no time for fussing and fighting"I doubt that any from among us will lament in his last day"I wish that I had debated about spirituality more. But more realistically like millions other we will wonder was I truly loved by those who knew me and did I make them feel they were loved, which is truly the circle of which I speak.
