All this obsession with honesty and truth and the ruthlessness of it or otherwise coincided with irresponsibility with a basic real life commitment to my partner. i was so involved in the holy battle i couldn't bother to check an email from her that requested i take our kid to the hospital. (he's fine). The casualty was trust. Trust that I value her time as much as my own. It’s a perfect lesson, which hit home, in at least three senses of that word.
