i noticed in myself that it is far too easy for my ego to become engaged in these pointless name throwing threads. i have reached a point in my journey where this open forum is of no value simply because when i am attacked or assaulted i have a natural tendency to fight back. i suppose that this is merely another step in my journey because this ego-thing has got to go. and for that lesson i should thank everyone, so thanks.
one parting word: be careful of falling into the trap of sitting in a polite circle talking ABOUT waking up without actually WAKING UP.
PEACE. robert

I agree, and not because I'm you lol. If I seriously wanted to wake up I doubt I'd visit this site as all I need is me. The rest is a distraction. An interesting distraction though. Thanks everyone for keeping me asleep (smash that buddha .

We all have our own journey, it never can be anything "external" to us such as a forum, name picking or whatever. It;s always comes back to ourselves and how we deal with our reaction.
Nice Tolle quote Thanks Michael

alright ladies and gentlemen- i want to leave you with just this one question. what if this is the only chance that, i robert, am ever going to get to wake up, wouldn't i move mountains to get there, would i stand around joking and assuming that because i have heard of this thing called reincarnation from someone else said thousands of years ago would i just assume that it is true? what other assumptions are we basing our lives on. i can tell you right now that once you see IF you see what awakening is all about the only thing you are going to do AFTER you quit crying is wonder how can i have wasted so much time? because time is the only thing that you can't replace.
what if this is the only chance i am ever going to get?

Hi Robert,
It is.
This moment is all there is.
You don't have time. Time is the mind. There is no time. There is only Now, this moment.
Surrendering to this moment is waking up.

This is the first time in my life I spend so much time on a forum. Whatever the reasons may be, I discovered, while dealing with different matters and being moreless emotionally invested in my surface consciousness (which was/is ok for me) it seems that a deeper game was/is going on as well. I can't pinpoint what, but I can sense it and feel it in my body-heart-mind. m

What differentiates between a distraction and an exploration is the intention to be distracted or to explore. Where or how it is done is irrelevant. If the intention is pure, Truth can be found on the back of a cereal box because there's nothing here but Truth Truthing.

"Split a piece of wood... and I am there, lift a stone... and you will find me." Would I find anything if I explored? You advised me previously to pay no attention to the words. I also keep reading that the key to waking up is unlearning. For me a site like this encourages people to think that they are learning and getting closer to the truth. If the aim is to unlearn I don't see how it can be helpful, no matter what the intention.

May be, a good way to unlearn is to kill one or two buddha on the road. There is a french saying that goes: "The upper a monkey climbs the more you can see its ass". this forum give a chance to everybody to climb the "enlightenment-waking up-spiritual tree. All the aswers being dispelled It can live you all alone with your question. And may be that 's where it really starts. m What differentiates between a distraction and an exploration is the intention to be distracted or to explore. Where or how it is done is irrelevant. I probably exaggerated. This is a great site for debate and most of the posters are very helpful. If I had a specific question I'd probably come here. However, if I was serious about waking up this would be a very small part of the equation I think. It's too easy to get hooked on getting closer to the truth by learning more when silence and looking inward would be a lot more helpful. I'm on the lower rung of the ladder as I still think I'm the doer but I can't believe all of this is as complicated as it's made out on this site. There's too much analysis and ultimately the words are throwaway as is often confirmed by the senior posters.

When the truth is realized, it is realized that no time was ever wasted because there is no time and there is no one who could have wasted time. Everything that is happening is happening perfectly on schedule. Another way of saying the same thing is that nothing at all is happening. All movement is illusory. It is like a brilliant diamond slowly rotating in space without the space. LOL. I often tell people that one of the reasons I write about non-duality is to save other people time in finding the truth, but this is a big fat lie (don;t blame me; everybody lies). I, and every other body/mind, does what it does because this is the script. If you're frustrated, then you're playing your part perfectly. If you're happy as a clam, perfect. If you don't think you have any time, perfect. If you know that there is no such thing as time, perfect. The good news is that you can't go wrong, so I suggest seeing the humor in this and having a big laugh. Ha ha. Row, row, row, your boat, Gently down the stream, Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, Life is but a dream.
