HI, A beautiful book I read after a long time. Some observations about human behaviour are amazing. just now I was reading about "Moralism" on page 280-281, it is wonderful.

For those of us few who don't have the book, would you give a brief discription of these pages about power versus force?

This was the first spiritual book I read after starting my search. Today I can say there is a lot of truth to it, but a lot of bunk in my experience - applied kinesiology most notably: the arm strength tests.
With me, I always tested strong and noticed no change when testing. Plus, his cosmology is very elaborate and complex - lots of beliefs there.
I'm sure Dr Hawkins had some intense mystical experiences, but he doesn't seems to have realized. And his followers seem to mostly be devotional rather than work on their own. They typically don't even do applied kinesiology themselves - only referring to Hawkins' list of what's good/bad/etc..
But I found his lecture/video about consciousness and addiction to be brilliant - minus the applied kinesiology of course.
After Power vs. Force, I moved onto "The Power of Now" by Tolle. It pointed me in the right direction.

conversations with God series of book that Neal Donald Walsh wrote are the ones I started with. But referring back to THIS thread about power versus force.....ANY books are simply tools. it is up to each of us to find the answers within us. Books are written from one person/s experinces, but to the readers.....the books are tools of possibilities. In my ( OWN ) opinion, power could be the mind's ego while the force is within the energy ( or the so called gut instincts ) that we really should use as the way of dealing with the NOW moments in life.

How do you differentiate gut instincts from fear?

one can know the differances due to having those experiences that prepares us for the next time it may happen again. For me, I do hear words inside me that is an instant response. fear is just a feeling of nervousness like anxiety is gittery. but people will define your question in many ways, so there is no real right answer, other than based on a personal experince. so my response may not fit your perspectives from your ( own ) experinces. I forgot to add in my above note.....
I think fear is the minds ego that is influenced by the outside enviroment. Gut instincts are a God given intuition from within. As they say, go within, so you don't go without.

Yeah with me gut instincts point to fear of something - a good counselor to listen to if you want to stay physically safe in marginal situations. But I can resonate with truth which feels totally different. So it looks like we have different wording that's all.
