Hi! I'm another who has occasionally lurked here over the past few months. Eventually realised I keep coming back here so I should do the decent thing and join and ask a few questions, make a few comments, tell it like how "I" see it Background: I've been interested in 'spiritual' matters since young. Had a few odd experiences, they still happen every now and then despite me being a hardcore skeptic on psychic phenomenon! For many years I just read spiritual books, especially those on Sufism, and those with a more "earth gaia" back to the simplicity of nature approach. Finally took the plunge and decided to "do" something in the way of practice - 6 years ago I joined a local G.I.Gurdjieff group. I hasten to add I am not a 'true believer' in anything. The time in that group had been very useful to me, but over time, I've become somewhat disillusioned. While it certainly is no cult and members seem sincere, there is a lack of something - vitality, direction, cohesion? I suspect the original leader was enlightened - but none of the followers are. I became aware of Advaita in the last year or so and this has grabbed my attention. It seems relevant as it is living - there are living practitioners who you can meet - in real life or Youtube. I am also another who was really stirred up ny U.G. Krishnamurti in a way that nothing else has managed. Enough for now...!

Welcome to the board Hazxan. Thank goodness you're not a true believer! Those folks get way too serious. LOL
