Shawn should be able to get the email address that Lightmystic used to register on the forum. I interacted with Lightmystic on several forums over the past 2 years. During this period of time, his interest in posting decreased steadily. For the last half year, he participated on this forum only. My guess is that he has moved on to "other interests."

If LM moved on that's fine but if anyone can find out if he's ok that would be great.
I wasn't here while he was posting I did read a lot of them, he comes a cross as a compassionate person who is very deep in to nonduality. His posts were very helpful.

After months of lurking I experienced a distinct feeling that LM might one day leave the forum and I would have missed an opportunity to speak with someone whose words I greatly admired. So though often shy and reclusive I joined my first forum and spoke my feeble mind It is his empathetic nature that I relate to the most. LM handled people with care and respect. Until I read his words I had never wanted a teacher. I could never bring myself to ask but then of course I couldn't bring myself to ask! Anyway, he opened my eyes to an all encompassing experience of emptiness that I use to perceive as horrifying.

This is precisely why things like personality cults thrive. Some of you need to stop objectifying LightMystic and get on with the business of figuring stuff out for yourselves. I'm sure LightMystic would agree that names should be relegated as secondary to the teachings. In fact, names ought not to be a factor in this whole process at all. Sure as hell (pardon the pun), that if the billion or so Christians quit having wet dreams about licking Jesus' feet, there'd be a lot more enlightened Christians. That isn't saying anything about Christianity -- but it is saying something about Christians. In the end, the search can't be undertaken by anybody but yourself. In that sense it's a lonely world out there. LightMystic can teach you about as much about Truth as he can teach you the taste of shark's fin. Follow me? So stop wasting your time. The Uncreated

The Uncreated Uncreated: I don't think anybody is objectifying LM or elevating him to cult status. He simply provided an interesting perspective on the path, and I, for one, always enjoyed reading what he had to say. The only thing a teacher can do is help point someone in the right direction and explain some of the pitfalls and deadends that may be encountered along the way. They can also challenge folks about their beliefs and ideas and suggest where and how answers can be found to existential questions.

The Uncreated: I don't know what others feel about this, but I'm genuinely worried. Not so much because LM is an "enlightened teacher", but because I, and I think many others on this forum, consider him a friend. Wouldn't you be worried if a friend of yours just suddenly disappeared? His disappearance is unusual. I always got the sense that he cared a lot about us. On top of that he was a staff member and thus had resposibilities. It would be very unusual for him to, in case he simply lost interest in the forum, not even leave a word to Shawn that he won't be available to moderate the forum.

Staff ZD? Hail the new leader! ;D Andy: I told Shawn that he was risking a lot to put this in the hands of a Luddite! Where is LM now we need him? LOL

If you remember rightly LM posted infrequently towards the end. It wasn't a case of him posting every day and then nothing. If anything has happened to him I'm sure his family and friends will be well aware of it and be there to help him. If he's dead he won't care much about anything anymore will he.

I'm not really a guest I just want to be anonymous some thing seems a little fishy about LM's disappearance.
If you go back a little bit there was a very contentious exchange between LM and a strange poster. Even before I became aware LM was missing I got a weird feeling after reading that thread.
I hope I'm just being paranoid.

LOL zendancer, When I logged on today and saw that you were now "staff" my first thought was-oh my god, a Luddite! In all seriousness, Shawn made a wise choice.

Its interesting how connections develop through this mode of communication. I never talked to LM, met him or even know anything other than a couple tidbits about him but it feels like Question said, we lost a friend.

look in spiritual discussions on page 18 start in topic ' messiah complex" read swamicollins ramblings.
then go to topic 'quality of teacher' more swami ramblings.
And finally LM and swami get into it in topic ' hello here I am for the first time' start on page 2 through page 4.
swarmi has some big issues he is very threatening. I hope he was banned.
