I haven't heard of a connective tissue system, but I think it must refer to the facia, rather than tendons, ligaments and cartilage - not that I relate any of these to meditation particularly and I'm skeptical of theories that do - but I'm into body awareness meditation more than anything else, just feel the air moving in and moving out is fine. That connects the mind to the sensation bringing the attention to the experience as it is, and from there to subtler and subtler aspects of the body and mind.

All of that is relatively true, but repeatedly shifting attention away from thoughts can definitely lead to mental silence, and far more quickly. The natural state includes mind, but is not mind. In the natural state it doesn't matter whether there are thoughts or no thoughts. A good koan to contemplate is, "What shifts attention away from thoughts or towards thoughts?" ZD was meditating. He started thinking about the hot new female pilot he hired two weeks back to fly his private LearJet, fantasizing about spending an evening in the hot tub with her. Then he remembered the last time he flew to Hollywood to meet with his agent, they landed him in Burbank airport, too long of a drive. He wanted to change the itinerary, to fly to Long Beach or LAX. He needed to discuss a change in the flight plan with his pilot. He decided he would call her and set up a meeting. Then he realized he hadn't yet scheduled a meeting with his agent to discuss the script for Pouring Concrete. He decided he needed to do that right after the meditation session. Do you think he'd remember his original intent if he recalled focusing on his breath at this point? Perhaps, but you catch my drift. Had fun with the ZD story. Your point is well taken. Koans are for folks who enjoy looking for a corner in a circular room. One of the things I noticed after awakening when I was 21 was the sexual drive didn't have that same animal predatory instinct as on the marketplace where you would sell chase money and women. All mind a little heart. Making love to a woman in a lift was a weekly occurrence. Yet a new way of Being was emerging as my partner walked through the marketplace. And then was separated from me. Going back to work being introduced to YouTube you have recommendations on your playlist. One was on a talk on non duality with Lisa Cairns, Tim Freke and Gary Weber. Seek out the video for yourself. At one point Gary Weber mentions on his awakening the sexual drive diminished and Tim Freke almost fell off his chair. But I know what he's pointing at. As you make love without an end as I never used to on the marketplace As there is no end to That as it has a play of its own. Before I met my teacher David my partner walked through the marketplace with beautiful wide eyes. And then in the Indian tradition was taken away. The pain body. It all served to take me within. No practice no meditation but a beautiful person walking through a marketplace. A scent of a woman in a marketplace of wants . Was enough to awaken to me to That For Wordsworth a valley of flowers, was enough for him. Beyond wild where he became lost present, pinned like a butterfly at the sight of flowers. We are so used to the news, and propaganda on awakening do this meditate you will come to This. Use the right words Non Duality, Consciousness, Awareness the news will have you as the guest against any other expression or experience But the beauty of Osho, yes I've seen the Netflix documentary, yes he's a showman Guru, like my teacher Barry Long But you will find with Osho the beauty is that he's open to all traditions, and yet he will point at a flower πΊ for those who are close. The girl who on the marketplace brought much in for me as the tradition of Saraha one of my most loved sages She was there to make me more me more still We were separated but are back together now. But I have different way of holding her hand now from the past. It wasn't the internet age back then You had to walk into a bookstore or pick up a magazine and wait a month for the next publication Back then Tantra was a theme that was appearing in my own experience but I've gone beyond it now, it's served and has been let go of. I agreed with his comment. Seems aging has the same effect as awakening on sexuality. Maybe not aging, but rather maturing. I like to apply the same analogy to sexuality as I do to pain and grief. It's not mine, but someone much wiser. If you put a handful of salt in a glass of water, the water is undrinkable. If you put a handful of salt in a lake then it's barely perceptible.

SDP: I think you're right. There were several powerful scenes in that movie, but I particularly liked the dancing plastic bag scene and the final scene with the voice-over.

The movie veered away from the original script, but everyone on the set realized that what was happening on the set was better than what had been planned via the script. Even the screenwriter agreed. Yes I've seen that film that clip, some good pointers in that film. SDP pointed at the bag scene, a while back a poster on here filmed a similar thing I could be wrong but I'm sure it was Just Like You posted a beautiful video and the footage could have appeared in a film as it was similar to the bag scene. As it captured the stillness by frame. The change of heart.....It's A Wonderful Life, Groundhog Day , Castaway, Shawshank Redemption, Kungfu Hustle, kung fu panda, Hero, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and there are many more especially in Chinese and Indian cinema. I used to work in a video shop in my school holidays my uncles shop he was a religious man so when new films came in I would have to make sure the print was okay. As he only listened to and watched religious material. From the x rated movies to the coming of age brat pack films of the eighties. I had to watch them all. I got so tired of watching porn back then and Freddy Krueger films The Nightmare On Elm Street series π΄. I used to love the background music especially the lemon popsicle movies the 50's music these movies. Even the film Stand By Me . One customer used to be obsessed with the music and invited to Birminghams West End Bar where there was Rockabilly music and people dressed up with women with Rockabilly hair dos to men in quiffs and it was like stepping into a different world I've always preferred the old black and white movies, and the silent movies. And of course Laurel and Hardy. I haven't watched many movies as I used to. We had a phone call to create a jacket for Will Ferrell recently but with the move to our new place we couldn't take it on but his part in Wedding Crashers was hilarious. Scott Adkins is a regular at our place the guy who featured in Dr Strange and Boyka as he lives down the road. He always buys a leather jacket for himself and his father. We also had the wardrobe people for the Game Of Thrones ask if we could provide certain items but we didn't have the space so pointed them to another firm. But recently knowing I had a free Netflix account on my phone from my works phone I've watched a few films mainly sci fi. One film clip in The Life Of Brian as I had read the bible as a child. The sermon on the mount, it totally smashed the image I had read that everyone could hear Jesus as they gathered in their thousands to hear him as the story goes. In the movie the people at the back begin to shout what did he say and one shouts speak up. And another gives up and says let's go to a stoning π The stoned to death scene for blasphemy is a must watch too. Now I don't watch so much. Most youngsters at work use the term binge watching. They seem to love watching new films or series. I kept being told to watch Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones but when you are on a computer all day, meeting clients, answering calls all day I prefer to sit in silence after a days work. One film I've enjoyed was Midnight Run with Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin. Some great pointers in that film too Do you guys ever watch Indian or Chinese films?

Not too many films from China or India appear in theaters here, but I've enjoyed the ones I've seen--Monsoon Wedding, Crouching Tiger, etc. I've never watched many of the TV series either, but while on vacation I watched a few episodes of "Chernobyl," and it was extremely interesting. Just for laughs it's hard to beat "Death at a Funeral."
