Yes, as well as concern, anger etc. You know, the kinds of things human beings experience. Only a human being identified with person-hood would be concerned or angry. How can a human being who's heart is filled with compassion for others, ever experience concern or anger? For whom? These are just imaginings of what you consider to be an idealized state. Can you imagine anger without suffering? No you cannot.

They can be imaginings of an idealized state and it's well worth the minds efforts to make sure you continue to believe that. It's another example of a split mind, wanting both freedom and person-hood. It is possible however to make up your mind...

You have the cart before the horse. Dreamy ideas about worthiness won't get you anywhere. I'm telling you that human emotions are experienced by those who are unattached to them, those who identify with the ocean. You keep tinkering with the wave and somehow create an idea of an awakened being who is disconnected and disembodied from the human aspect. That's not how life in freedom is.

Yes, don't worry about mind, says the mind...hehehe It's okay to keep your human passions says mind, it's okay to get angry, to feel guilt, etc, etc, after all that is what defines you. When your ready to give up your identity with the minds nonsense and trust Life completely, only then can you talk about freedom, but not before.

You really don't understand and that is understandable. When I woke up to my true nature I remember thinking, everything has changed yet nothing has changed. There are so many documented accounts of people who say, I woke up. Oh, I never expected it to be this. I do understand how you are trying to make what you appreciate intellectually fit into what you imagine to be freedom, but this will never work until you are prepared to let go of all these concepts. I know it is difficult because you even identify with what you think you don't identify with. But it is also very easy. You just have to cultivate silence. It is really that simple. Then what you are, which is infinite peace, will reveal itself. But you are resisting what I say. I can see that. The ego wants to preserve itself. But that too must go for freedom to reign.

Indeed, when there's some space in oneself I live new things (sometimes unexpectedly!) and also live the usual things more purely, deeply (this is especially true in my relationship with my daughter).

I am continually amused by some peoples' notions that awakening means you run around thereafter like a headless chicken with no mind.

Yes, people have this idea that TR/SR results in some sort of passionless other-worldly state, but nothing could be further from the truth. As you say, silence and the willingness to let go of all ideas leads to freedom.

Jumping out of an icy splash is very different in terms of mental processes involved than reading and responding to posts (and posters) on a forum. I am speaking of the 'discernment' required to read a post, conclude it's meaning, and then respond... To the proper poster. There is mental activity inherent in that....jumping out way of any icy splash.....no contemplation or observable mental discernment necessary. The body responds. Well... that's how intuition works when communicating with someone. I know when the 'water is cold', without any explanations as to why and how. Yes, I understand intuition well, but I also understand that having a conversation where my understanding is being held up against your own, with regards to the meaning of a quote by Jed McKenna, involves a little mental activity/thought as well.

I forgot what the quote was about now. If you re-post it I will try again. Thank you. Well, my point was that Your comment (even if it's content was intuited) occurred within the context of an entire conversation...so it would require quoting more than one post. Again, Following along with a conversation, comparing your understanding to mine, comparing both to Jed's quote, THAT requires mental activity.

So....Do you think you are able to compare your understandings to another with regards to how you both perceive and interpret a quote of a particular teacher, and follow along with the conversation from post to post, and not mentate at all?

You are teaching the cultivation of silence. But to know Thy own Self you don't need any teaching, which is really preaching. What you really are is always that itself. No one can teach you that, it is discovered, not in a mind state but in the here and now. This moment.... Pointing in the direction of a state of silence, for what can be discovered this moment, is abidance in mind and spiritual materialism.
