I'm watching Susan Butler on Book TV on c-span2 right now. She wrote a book on Roosevelt and Stalin. One morning, during meetings on Allied planning and all that stuff, Stalin wandered by Roosevelt's bedroom and the door was open and Stalin asked if he could come in. They began a little chit-chat. Stalin asked Roosevelt if he slept well. Roosevelt said yes, but it took him a while to get to sleep because of all the frogs croaking in the pond outside. Butler then said that Stalin had all the frogs in the pond killed. I was just about to start this thread.....and thought that an appropriate story. This is just a space to bring any and all insults and attacks, emphasis on all. I actually don't think it will be used much, but here it is, just in case.

Good morning, dusty. The story about the frogs is way cool. Reminds me of exchanges on the Buddhist forum about mindfulness, and how I use the surrounding sounds to practice it. But, I definitely see the connection. Do you really think he killed all the frogs or was just a made-up story? It does sound insane, that's fer sure.

But, I definitely see the connection. Do you really think he killed all the frogs or was just a made-up story? It does sound insane, that's fer sure. I just googled deaths in the Soviet Union attributed to Stalin. From 1928-1954 it said there were from 56 million to 62 million deaths in the USSR from unnatural causes, and 35-60 million directly attributed to Stalin (this includes 20 million soldiers in WWII). So yea, I'm sure he killed the frogs. And, the purpose of that story is to say, "killing" the "frogs" is not the solution ( making reefs back down).
