This video is from the 1950's and the audio quality is poor, so I transcribed the main portion where the young woman is giving an amazing description of a cosmic conscious experience. The transcribed portion is only a 5 minute duration...
Question: What do you see? Answer : I couldn't possibly tell.. It's here can't you feel it.. the whole room, every thing is in color, I can feel the air I can see it, I can see all the molecule's.... I mean I'm part of it..its just like your relived or your free..I don't know how I can tell you...
Question: How do you feel inside ? Answer: Inside ? I don't have an inside..
Question: Is it all one ? Answer: It would be all one if you were not here and if nobody else.... Yes! everything is one...you have nothing to do with it.. I am one with what I am..I can see everything in color..everything.. you have to see the air...
Question: what does this all mean to you? Answer: I have never seen such infinite beauty in my life... it's like a curtain or a spider web or a ....can you see it, its right here in front of me right now ! WATCH...NO , good heavens it passed right through me!..
Question : can you feel it? Answer: I Umm, Me..! there isn't any me...
Question Is all this pleasant or unpleasant ? Answer: there is no pleasant or unpleasant..it's so beautiful it's it, how can you think of....I mean can't you feel it, everything is so beautiful & lovely and alive! you shouldn't say anything ....anything not being.. this is reality... if you look right over there, are you looking?
Question: Yes what should I see? Answer: I wish I could talk in technicolor.. or let you see it.. did you say you can see it?.
Question: No I can't see it why don't you tell me about it. Answer: It's, I can't tell you about it, if you can't see it, then you well never know.. I feel sorry for you...

I remember doing the same experiment as her... with similar results
And during the event .. very profound insights and understandings were seen/sensed/whatever But then it wore off, and none of the insights could be remembered exactly

I'm curious did your event put you on a path to find truth?

And I'd say what we've seen there in the video is exactly that, she describes some higher stages of minding but not what CC and non-duality are referring to. Here's another video that might clear things up a bit.

But when viewed from the perspective of Here, Now .. then the concepts of elapsing time, and paths, don't really make any sense.

Here's another video that might clear things up a bit. videos alone rarely clear things up .. have you ever had any direct experience with that potent chemical?

You see the aim of your thinking and meditation to invoke a CC? Why do you want to have a CC? Needless to say, that I don't go with your presciption.

There was interest in the existential questions in the late teens and early 20's did a little philosophy in college, read most of Carlos Castaneda's books, the channeled Seth material. the bible and other stuff I no longer remember, J. Krishnamurti's book made the most lasting impression, like you 30 years would go by before the urge came up again when I stumbled across Tolle's teachings and then a CC event where non-separation was directly experience and mind was informed that self does not exist. Without the CC event there is just no way non-duality would make any sense from this perspective... If the individual has never had CC happen they are a like person blind from birth trying to understand what the sun is. Like the young woman in the video says 'if you can't see it, then you will never know'..

Like the young woman in the video says 'if you can't see it, then you will never know'.. Yes, and it is a strikingly similar story over here… Finding, and hearing, Tolle seemed to settle things down quite a bit; he spoke simply, and the words found a willing an interested listener here. A later realization seemed to stop thinking dead in its tracks, and all of this became much simpler after that. And simpler is nice, less stress and suffering is nice, a joyful, playful, humorous demeanor, is nice … but I’m pretty sure it’s not Self Realization, so there are miles to go before I sleep… ;-) As for CC, I don’t know, if it is “an event”, then I don’t think I could add it to any list of remembrances, but “Oneness ” is obviously true, even though I don’t know how I know that .. but I can ‘sense it’, or remember it, or something else which I can’t describe. And as for acid, I wouldn’t advocate using it, or even claim that it had any usefulness, but it is an experience unlike any other, and I remember finding the experience very interesting. Maybe a window opens briefly, maybe its a ‘glimpse’, but I really don’t know, and it doesn’t really matter.

If the individual has never had CC happen they are a like person blind from birth trying to understand what the sun is. Like the young woman in the video says 'if you can't see it, then you will never know'.. Mind is regularly falsely informed by an experience. Virtually every mind is informed about separation by virtue of experience. (just ask Tzu) Mind is informed by the experience of a snake in the road, and yet it turns out it's actually a rope. An experience may well be reflecting a powerful truth, but it also may be reflecting a powerful illusion. Perhaps we could all agree that not all drug induced experiences are truths that we hope mind will be informed about, so why do we give that power to LSD? Anyhoo, as I see it, not only is a 'CC' experience not required for either understanding nonduality or self realization, it could actually side track the potential. Experience is fundamentally illusion, even the experiences that seem to collapse the illusions formed by other experiences. At best, they are reflections of Truth in the language of mind's perception. Genuine realization is not actually an experience. It's a direct seeing beyond the perceptual/conceptual limitations of the experiencing mind.

It usually seems to refer to woo woo only. Somehow folks seem to think that seeing oneness means seeing everything melting together in a soup of light. And that's not what oneness, as it is used in non-duality, is pointing to. That's why I usually say the 'seeing' isn't referring to the physical sense of seeing. Yes, what is perceived doesn't have to change/lose it's form or characteristics in order to see thru the illusion. After all oneness is not referring to absence of distinctions but absence of separation.

Here's another video that might clear things up a bit. videos alone rarely clear things up .. I'd say Maharaji explained it very well when he said that it cannot give you freedom, it can only strengthen your faith. Only indirect.

Yes, it's the implication that realization, or what nonduality refers to, is some kind of experience, that I object to. If 'cosmic consciousness' is talked about as an experience, I say that's not it. Yes, it's the conclusions ABOUT the perceptions that cause the trouble, as Tzu demonstrates.
