Is this about basketball?
You know, I've always wondered. How come you Muricans play sports that nobody else in the world plays, and that nobody else even cares about?

Yes. It's about basketball. I used to wonder the same thing as a boy, especially when it was time for the World Cup. Or the rugby championships. Cricket... We're finally catching up with the rest of the world and fielding teams.

Sports politics and religion are the three main things that keep us pasified and away from awakening. It is where we get our (us and them) on. It is where we see our true inner reflection. If you are not with us you are against us. Sports is one of the biggest reflection of our duality consciousness.
Our religions are somewhat passive, but not always. Our sports are in your face and nationwide and sometimes worldwide duality. And politics is where the gloves truely come off and we see all out war. Whoo Whoo!!!!! Come and get some. These three are all reflections of what we hide on the inside of us and refuse to heal up. Our inner conflict always boils over, after all it is one of the laws of duality consciousness. The more that we deny what is on the inside of us the more intense the reflection must become in our outside world.
Duality consciousness is why we can never close the book on two never ending stories, that rage through out the pages of our world history. War and Peace, Good and Evil, the untimate reflections of our duality consciousness. (As inside, so also outside) We judge ourselves and we force ourselves to see our own true inner reflection. And we do this sub-consciously, this dance of maddness.

The survival of millions of children across the Sahel and the Horn of Africa was threatened by a deadly combination of high food prices, armed conflict and crop failure.
These 23 million children, do you think any of them might be suffering from malnutrition? Would you say that the reason any of those who are suffering from malnutrition is because of something else besides their inability to forgive? I am going to put the answer to this in another room, March Maddness. It fits very well with another post that I made.
Because we are in duality consciousness we have to follow certain rules. For some to have some others must have not. We cannot get ride of hunger and poverty and war. The best that we can ever do is keep the balance. These other people who are trapped in poverty, malnutrition, and never ending war are keeping the balance so the rest of us can learn other lessons. If you want to end the suffering of others then END YOUR OWN INNER CONFLICT. If you want to honor what these other people do for us then do your part. All of creation supports us while we make this journey. Everyone and everything suffers and does without so that we can have the time and the resources to make this inward journey of self discovery.

I would even agree with regard to professional sports. I think the professional version fits this model a bit better because money is a part of that equation, as it does in politics and religion. But, yeah, sadly, upon reflection, college athletics is a big bucks enterprise now, too, with tv revenues, higher ticket prices, etc. So good on you for pointing it out. But I cannot help but think of an image as I write this. After Michigan State won the Big Ten Tournament, which in and of itself was a nice surprise after a somewhat rudderless January and February stumble through their schedule, there was a bloom to be found as the team went about the ritual of cutting down the nets... bigstory.ap.org/article/mich-states-payne-treats-little-girl-sisterI'd have to say it's a wonderful expression of mindfulness. Go Spartans!

Would one of the ways of ending our own inner conflict be seeing duality from a different perspective, or vantage point? I'm asking because I sense you're saying- if duality is an illusion, then unity will not be established. Mother Teresa used to describe duality as seeing God in all his distressing disguises.

I see duality as the grand illusion. It is like we are in the Matrix. To see duality for what it really is we have to do a lot of personal word and change how we think so that we can see threw the illusion. And then we have to give up thinking as we know it before we can cross the veil into non-duality. Or at least that is how it works for me.

And then we have to give up thinking as we know it before we can cross the veil into non-duality. Or at least that is how it works for me. I'm not familiar with the Matrix thing (I read a lot of people referring to it in spiritual circles) as I'm not really a big movie buff, but we have different viewpoints of what duality is and is not. Which is fine. Changing how we think is tricky. Especially if we're serving thoughts. In my experience, thought patterns change when stillness or quietude is introduced. So I sense we agree on this. People have synchronistic/'peak experiences' all the time prior to crossing the veil into non-duality. Seeing the ocean for the first time, or a very large mountain range at sunrise-'that wasn't there' upon arriving at a destination around midnight. Holding a newborn baby..... Time sorta stands still in moments like these. Breathing slows, then stops. Stillness reigns. What duality/non duality is or is not wasn't even a part of these equations. Being caught in those views would have obscured the 'view.'

Well I fundamentally disagree with this approach. Whether or not hunger, poverty and war can ever be completely disappeared is a red herring. The point is to work together to reduce those as much as possible. This can be done simultaneously with 'ending internal conflict' or whatever. "Ending internal conflict" I conjecture, makes one even more effective at reducing hunger, poverty and war. Seymour's quote of Thich Nhat Hahn the other day is in this line. Normally the concept 'Spiritual Bypass' is used to describe individuals who deny working on their own personal problems in the guise of focusing on transcendental spiritual issues or whatever. I think the same concept can be used to describe individuals who are basically apathetic to helping reduce the suffering of others -- poverty, hunger, war -- in the service of a Greater Truth yada yada.

I read this morning that everyone who participated in the Billion Dollar Challenge has had their brackets collapsed as a result of all the upsets in the NCAA Tournament. There will be no winners (15 million Plus submissions...Our bracket submission came crashing down when Dayton beat Ohio State, which was game one in our region....) Drat!
