It's a very bad move to censer the internet for many reasons. No matter how good the reason is once they are allowed to go down that road freedom will be gone

Hehe...No not too lazy, but built on spirituality and not scientific principles like Darwin's theory of evolution... Okay since you are a confusing poster when you write let me see if this is straight. Even though we the US has God on our money and the UK has Darwin you are saying that the UK was built on spirituality and the US on Darwin theories? It's completely false anyhow but trying to understand what you are saying here. The US was built totally on spirituality and if you study the founders people like Jefferson and so on you would know this. People like Emerson the poet who had a lot of influence on our government. It's the reason why we still as a country have the most freedom anywhere even when so much has been taken away from us. Sorry, I'm saying the opposite...the UK challenges spirituality while the USA embraces it... Just look at how religious zealots or the Tea Party have risen to be a political tour de force in America...

You are probably besides E the most unclear poster here imo. I have really no idea what you are saying..what do you mean opposite? Nothing wrong at all in embracing spirituality more members here would do well to do exactly this well when you think about it most members here are probably lurkers now and are embracing spirit..UK always tries to challenges something as it's ole karma that comes from being King and such big egos and such..good going for the tea party someone should do something to kick Obama in the butt..he will go down in history as one of the worst President ever.

I told you that I don't have to pay a doctor, to write a prescription, to get any vitamins, in this country. I can go to umpteen stores, pharmacists and/or health food shops, in any high street, across any city. And yet, you wish to believe your scaremongery and wave a website address at me.

Has anyone actually read the internet censorship article!? It says that the filters will be set to "on" by default, but that they can be turned off. It's hardly "Big Brother..." What's worse: having horrific misinformation and graphic imagery allowed by default (so a child can stumble upon it), or having the choice to unblock the filter on one of your devices so you can watch people stick their c**ks into every orifice in the human body and read about how the U.S. Dollar is representative of the Illuminati's involvement in the foundation of America?

P.S. - Vitamins are freely available in the U.K., and one can even source all kinds of other goodies over the internet from countries where no-one gives a f**k if you become addicted to benzodiazepines, opiates or the million new generation nootropics which are flooding the market. It's interesting that the U.S. has virtually zero restrictions upon the prescription of drugs such a Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin and so forth. In the U.K., these drugs are highly restricted in their therapeutic usage due to their exceedingly addictive nature in patients with major anxiety and/or sleep problems. There is an abundance of literature on the issue of Bezodiazepine Withdrawal Syndrome. Just look it up. The U.S. is still one of the biggest prescribers in the West, with "Psych" doctors prescribing these drugs for long term usage; sometimes advising such usage for life. While this may be advisable in some cases, I doubt very much that being prescribed Klonopin for having a nervous tick in one's eye is a very sensible idea (though this has indeed happened in one fairly well-known case...)...
So... I don't know where the idea of some kind of Orwellian government clamp-down in the U.K. has come from, but I can guarantee that any decisions made to control or filter either medication or information is done in an effort to reduce the negative consequences produced by sh*t heads and charlatans taking advantage of the more ingenuous citizens of the world; citizens whose innocence ought to be protected until they are old enough to protect themselves, perhaps...

Internet is a huge threat to the monopoly of information of regimes. Regimes can't survive without propaganda. The mainstream media is already lost, they are just stupid propaganda channels. The internet is the only free space left and will not remain so for long. Censorship comes in small steps. First they need to build the infrastructure. They justify this step with fighting against things like terrorism and child pornography etc. And then step by step they expand the censorship to other areas until even basic free speech is regulated like in China and North Korea. Look at the history of internet censorship and you will see the same tactic used every time. If at first their censorship bill doesn't succeed then they will vote again and again, and start one propaganda wave after another until they succeed.
