Greetings.. hmm...first, I have to see what thread I'm in - and am I gonna say anything that goes against new rules or guidelines. Freud's ego-bizness. a child's make-believe. What then is your definition of truth? It's Barney's thread, so no worries on that front I assume um, definition of truth huh? how 'bout 'that which is true'? hehe when you tell somebody something, you know if you're telling the truth or a lie don't you? lies are hard to keep track of, but the truth remains the same no matter how much time passes Three people eat slices of the same pie.. one person tells how delicious the pie is, another tells how the pie is too sweet, and the other tells how the pie is too tart.. which is telling the 'truth'? Be well..

Sometimes we think something is true and we find out later, it isnt or that isn't the whole story / big picture, if you will... Truth as in telling the truth, is usually based on what we want it to be. And then we've got 'scientific' truths or facts - it's never ever quite the whole enchilada. I imagine asking for a definition of Truth (capitalized) is like asking for a definition of God, or Source, or whatever you want to call it. Why bother? truth, on a personal level, seems more approachable. and I prefer not to let my mind run wild on the big existential questions, but to just focus on what is the truth right now, right in front of me. (btw, sorry for derailing your thread Bill, but at least we're not attacking one another. hehe)

From my understanding, '(T)truth' is the experience itself, not what we 'think' about the experience, or the words, labels, and beliefs we assign to the experience.. Be well..

Reefs likes to say "no Truth, only Truthin'." I get that. But it begs some questions about the unchanginess of Truthin'. Truthin implies change, which makes sense to me. What is Real would also be verby (to the Max!).

Be well.. **eating pie** is the experience, which is true. 'delicious' 'sweet' 'tart' are preferences, which likely would change over time

Well (T)truth as "a process happening" is a whole lot similar to Truthin' -- I don't see either as particularly distracting.

It's too much effort to blow the living breath into it every time we want to mention or talk about 'truth' - or 'truthin'.

Yeah, but where it gets hinky regarding the "truth" of experience, is that the very nature of experience is subject to perspective. Hence, ALL truth is relative to a perspective. Truth is a relative.
